ok ..... inspired by a suggestion in 'would the magician make a good husband?'

http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15009

what king would you marry????

for me ....... i would choose the King of Pentacles - providing he wasnt too 'materialistic' for me. i admire a man who gets his hands dirty and works hard - he is good with money (as i am - i couldnt stand being with someone who was irresponsible with money!). he likes nice things, and works hard to get them - but remembers to enjoy life. he likes nice food, holidays and all that his money can buy. works hard - plays hard.

he has his own business - is a man in charge - and he is clever, confident, and rich, and drop dead gorgeous, and would buy me a ring from Tiffanys.... (oh ... where do i meet this man!!!!!!!!!!?). But he is earthy - so he is also stable, sensual and in touch with himself and nature.

the King of Wands - he would be too 'hot headed' for me. i love outgoing, confident and charming men - but this king NEEDS attentian to make himself feel good, and he can be quite aggressive or stressed when he is not joking around. too highly strung, egocentric - and a bit of a show off.

the King of Cups - i think he would be a bit too 'nice' for me. it is good that he could talk openly about his feelings and tell me he loves me all the time!!! - but he could be easily upset or offended by my bluntness. he has loads of good , gentle qualities and would be a considerate love maker . He is not adventorous enough for me ..... he is the type of man to marry his high school sweetheart, have load of babies .......... and be happy living in his home town the rest of his life.

the King of Swords - i think he would be too 'straight' for me. he has a good chilled out and balanced mind, and is well respected ....great. however - i think he would think only with his head and not trust in his instincts. he would not follow his heart and take a risk.

- - - -have i made the right choice? ..... this was harder than i thought.

Can we combine them????

no???

Well then, I think I would go for the King of Wands. I like a man with a little fire in him }) }) }) I want a man with zeal for life. One who loves action. One who comes up with these great exciting ideas on the spur of the moment. And I don't mind a man that admires himself. Selfconfidence in a man is a must. And who's to say he is not a Romantic. All the King of Wands kind of guys I know are romantic. He can flirt as much as he wants with other women, because it'd be ME he goes home with at night! }) }) })

King of Pentacles would be too dull. He would get upset with me, because I am the kind of person who leaves the house messy if it is a beautiful day outside. He wouldn't have time to play because he would be too busy at work.

King of Swords is out because I can't stand a guy who tries to analyse me. I like spontineity. He would drive me NUTS. No, no, no, not the King of Swords. Too battle wounded and serious. Got to have a sence of humor.

King of Cups - Too moody. Always changing his mind. Off in another world. Although he would make a good Dad. However, my kids already have a good Dad. He'd definitelly be good for a little umm, excursion?? A romantic interlude?? But not for the long haul. Nope.

King of Wands for me! :) :) Yup, Yup

but i think i am still dating the knights!

Well, I already married a King of Swords (a Libra with Aquarius rising). But since I am a double Picses with Scorpio rising, this isn't too much air after all, but makes for a nice balance. And he's not too serious; he loves word play, as do I. Also, he can handle the occasional Scorpionic sting without getting hot headed (King of Wands) or being deeply hurt (King of Cups); he just bides his time 'til the mood is over. And nothing bores me quicker than an overemphasis on the material (King of Pentacles); give me those long talks where we solve the world's problems, instead:-)

LOL, galadrial. I have one of those too: a Gemini with Aquarius rising and moon in Libra! He teaches economics (big surprise).

Well...I'm too young to get married...but Catti...I think Im still dating the Knights too. Maybe even Pages. (Is there anything less mature than a Page...cuz if so then I've dated them too.)

But, hopefully...I'll get a *King of Cups*. Sure...he's alil emotional but I am too and I think he'd be a great daddy.

Quote LittleWing: "he is the type of man to marry his high school sweetheart, have load of babies ... and be happy living in his home town the rest of his life."

I think that's what I'll need. Sure, I have the inner drive to go to the big city (LA) and do movies...but if I found the right one here...I'd just stay here.

But let's talk about the others...
Wands/Staffs-Depending on how much fire he has in him, he might be a good match. I have a lot of fire in me (just ask anyone in astro section...they know)....and so I'd need someone to even me out some...and I dont think another fire would be it.

Pentacles-Good with money. That's good. If he were to own his own business...that might be better so he can be more flexible with hours and such. A hard worker who buys me jewerly...not a bad gig either. But if things got too much about money and too less about relationship, ect; I'd have to drop him instantly.

Swords-Sharp mind, witty, air sign...all good stuff. But, I dunno, I'm not sure I'd do well with another air sign (altho some would say I'm more fire but yuh know...depending).

Hope a particular Knight turns into a King of Cups (Chris...not ex boyfriend Chris but the other one 2 yrs older than me. :))

Ya gotta watch the Pentacle Kings--on the good side, no one works harder or manages money better. You'll never have to worry about unpaid bills or going without. Also, they're often interested in good health (nature walks, excersize or just gardening) and well constructed homes. They usually know a bit of plumbing and carpentry.

But they sometimes have a hard time parting with that money. I'm not saying he won't buy you jewelry--but he wants a good deal. If he thinks he's paying too much, he'll complain. Getting a bargain is often a little too important such kings. In addition, you have to keep them from becoming workaholics, and when they do come home from work, don't expect your King of Pentacles to talk. Conversation isn't their forté.

Too late, already married a king of pentacles, and I LOVE it!

My husband is so practical and good when it comes to money. I don't have to worry about unpaid bills, or our finances going hay wire. He loves to pinch, and so do I. He's practical, but loving. Strict, yet playful. He's well balanced really, but if I had to pick just one king that he fits the most, it's the King of Pentacles.

Guess I just got lucky cuz my hubby for the most part LOVES long conversations. He isn't a dreamer, but he loves to debate (not to be confused with arguing) and is willing to admit when he's wrong. I've done it a few times of proving he's wrong when I knew I could back it up. But he loves that about me too, that I won't back down when I'm challenged and I'll research out what I feel and find documented truth behind it. I don't mean by just other people saying they feel the same way, no I'll prove it by medical or scientifical journals, or other resources of the sort.

He also loves just hangin out, he can be alone or with other people. He's happy in a group of people, with just one friend, or by himself too.

But he is firm. Once we come to a firm decision about something, that's it, it's a done deal forever. But I like that, cuz I don't have to guess if he's going to change it next week, or next year. It's set.

He does work hard, very hard. He will spend his money on what we both see worth while buying, and even then, we help each other bargain shop. It's good to save as much money as possible in my opinion. So we work VERY well together, otherwise, he wouldn't be my husband. ;)

The King of Cups in a heartbeat!

I've already had long-term relationships with the King of Wands-too bossy-and the King of Pentacles-a good guy at heart and generous too but a workaholic.

I want romance, long walks, heart to heart communication, and family time.:)

LittleWing  17 Jun 2003
what would the king's relationships be like with all these women?? i've made a few notes ........ without going in depth and over analysing (or i would have been here all day!!)

The KING OF WANDS

+ Q Wands = obviously a perfect match - both are showy, fun, strong and adventurous. They can both be bossy, but will each stand up for themselves - and they will have explosive arguments when they dissagree - but the making up will be just as passionate!!

+ Q Cups = she would perhaps be too insecure for his flirtatious nature. she would prefer cosey romantic nights at home - and he would want to be out at parties or on an adventure - meeting new people, dancing all night etc.

+ Q Swords= she would perhaps be too intellectual - into books, and documentarys. he prefers the arts and socialising. he is hot, she is cold. but they say opposites attract!?

+ Q Pentacles= this could work. he is strong, but so is she - so it would be a balanced relationship. she would keep his feet on the ground.

The KING OF CUPS

+ Q Cups = obviously a good match - they are very intimate - and communicate their feelings well. their priorities are the same of the family, home, and their love for each other. romance and creativity surround this couple.

+ Q Wands = she would find him boring, and he would find her overpowering.

+ Q Swords = her bluntness would upset him, and she is too independant for him. he would find her cold and unfeeling - she thinks with her head, him with his heart.

+ Q Pentacles = this could work. she is down to earth, and likes a nice home, being with family etc. they are both in tune with their feelings, and nature, and their creativity.

The KING OF SWORDS

+ Q Swords= is a good match. they both like mental stimulus, and think with their heads. they both like to talk - long discussions etc, reading the sunday papers together etc.

+ Q Wands= this could work. He does like to talk and socialise, and although he would be more reserved ... they would be on a similar wavelength.

+ Q Cups= this could work? he is sensitive and fair and understanding. they would both like to talk - she could teach him to open up about his feelings.

+ Q Pentacles= this could work- they both like learning, and im sure she would find him very interesting, and he would find her practical work interesting.

The KING OF PENTACLES

+ Q Pentacles= a perfect match. they both work hard to have nice things and a nice life. they both like luxury. they could end up putting all this before their relationship if they are not careful though.

+ Q Wands = she would spend as fast as he earned - and he wouldn't like this!! she would get bored with his practical nature, and he would get frustrated with her frivilous nature.

+ Q Cups= a good match. she would enjoy being in the home, and he would enjoy being the provider. old-fashioned man/woman roles.

+ Q Swords= he would admire her independance and intelligance. but he is not into having a debate after his hard day's work!

That's awesome, I love it. The match maker between all the king/queen suits!

or Knight of Coins, but I think I'm getting old for the latter. Alex.

azuremariposa  22 Jun 2003
heh, i had to chuckle at LittleWing's comparisons...only b/c they are soooo true!!

I am most definitely Queen of Cups and hubby is most definitely King of Pentacles...and we are quite a good match!! :D

'cept that while i do enjoy being at home, i also love working, and therefore strive to be outside the home as well (or, best of both worlds, work at home!! :) heh)

great thread!! thanks for all the info, LittleWing!!

many blessings,

~azure
