First of all, im not sure about where to put this, so feel free to move the thread where it fits fine if this is not the correct forum.
I need to ask for help. Maybe this story sounds stupid or crazy, but is making me think withouth reaching a conclusion.
Two or three months ago I went with my brother to a house to tidy it up. After moving a closet, i saw two poker cards covered in dust lying on the ground. They were almost crossed, one faced up and the other down. The one up was the 4 of hearts, i picked it and turned the other: Ace of hearts. They were from different decks.
Just the day before of this i watched a film on tv called "Blackjack". Its not about gambling, but the film shows poker cards on it like sort of fun messages on two scenes or so. I commented it with my bro and put both cards inside my wallet. Thought about it a pair of days and then forgetted it... until yesterday.
I was speaking with a friend and she showed me a visiting card with a picture of a queen, half hearts and half clubs i think. I remembered the cards in my wallet and showed to her like a curiosity.
After some hours, meeting more people, etc... when i was returning home i saw a poker card upright alone in the middle of the street. It was 7 of clubs. Left it there.
But... now i cant stop to think if all this means something. Is a simple coincidence i found this one just the same day i looked at the older ones? Anyone can read with this gamming cards? Can someone help me with any ideas or i should forget about all and not try to find a message in this common things?

It is, of course, possible to use common playing cards for divination. Here is a book that goes into it in an introductory fashion, it is available at amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0345335791/qid=1057493752/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/002-2860992-9692845?v=glance&s=books
The book also describes divination with tarot, dice, palm reading, tea leaves, handwriting, I Ching, astrology, phrenology, dominos, and tablets of fate. It's actually a good introductory guide to divination.
You don't mention if you are using the western deck of 52 cards, or the Spanish deck with 40 (?) cards. It probably makes a difference!
As to encountering playing cards in your daily travels, that IS strange. In Paulo Coelho's book The Alchemist we are told to pay attention to the omens, but not what they mean, whether a particular object is an omen. Since you have seen cards on two different occasions I would guess that it is an omen, but of what, I don't profess to know.

Hi inana, like so many mystical experiences sometimes it takes time for the meaning to be reaveled to you, but just thought i would pass along the playing card/tarot correspondences that i use and my apologies if you already know this. the HEARTS in playing cards = CUPS in tarot, the CLUBS in playing cards =WANDS in tarot, the DIAMONDS in playing cards = PENTACLES in tarot, the SPADES in playing cards = the SWORDS of the tarot. of course some may do this different, but i hope this helps you in your search for illuminating this event.

I would definitely think there is some message the universe is trying to tell you. Finding lone cards around like that I think is more than a coincidence.
Using my own impressions to "interpret" the cards, this is what I would think:
The first two cards: the 4 of hearts showing, Ace of Hearts hidden: If I interpreted them like Tarot cards, I would say that in your emotional life, you are bored and dissatisfied. Not looking or anything, but not happy. But, there is an opportunity for love, if you but look for it.
When you said your friend had a calling card with the Queen of Hearts/Clubs, it jumped out at me. Is she single? Because if she is, she may be the Queen that you desire, but don't even know it yet.
Then you found the 7 of Clubs. I think it was telling you to be dashing, and a "knight in shining armour" in a way, to get the girl.
If your friend isn't single, I would really keep my eyes open for your Queen of Hearts. You may find her at a hiking trail, or a sports match.
Now, this is just my interpretation. Others may have different suggestions.

Corsair: the cards im finding are from what we call the french deck, not the spanish. But I've never read with this kind of cards or and dont know how to read non illustrated pips on tarot. Havent read the Alchemist, but I have it at home. I remember a few days ago it was a thread about Paulo Coelho in the forum... Maybe its time to give it a reading.
Scorpio: Thanks for the correspondances. They are like I was guessing.
Delani: You are right about the first two cards. I wasnt satisfied with my emotional life when i found them. And the situation is almost the same now. About my friend... well, im a girl and not attracted by females. So it cant be she is my queen... But i will go with open eyes. Is the seven of clubs the card that puzzles me more. Why do you say that about sports march or hiking trail?
Thanks for the help :). I will keep looking for more answers. And try to find out one myself.

Dear Inana,
Or anyone else interested in the matter. You may want to read A.E. Waite's "French Method of Cartomancy" which you can find online at:
http://www.hermetics.org/Waite_Cards.pdf
It describes a method of divination using ordinary playing cards.
