Hello,
Is it common when you are just starting out to get a little freaked out by the accuracy of readings? I for one am a little freaked. I've been studying the cards for some time now and I have only done two simple three card spreads so far. Past, present, and future. Both times I've been dumbfounded by the results. For example out of all the cards how could the most perfect of them all for the present turn up in the right spot? The same for the others which all were right on. Except for the future, which I'll have to wait and see. Will I eventually get used to it? I hope to move on to bigger speads some day. But for now I think I'll stick with the three card spread.

Hi Shoshin,
Yep, it's pretty common to go through the "freaked out" stage. Enjoy it while it lasts. Eventually you will get to the "well, of course" stage. Please don't be in a rush to move on to bigger spreads. A good three card spread will often give you all the information you need. It sounds like you are doing very well with your readings! Enjoy.

It is indeed surprising when one starts out! And as raeanne says, after a while it becomes normal. As to three card spreads: don't think they are inferior to spreads with more cards. Three card spreads are sometimes all that is needed - even for deep issues. And you'll find some wonderful spreads in the Tarot Spreads forum that you can explore when you feel like being more "adventurous".

I love that "freaked out" feeling! If it freaks you out too much, just remember that it is all coming from you. You are tapping into areas of yourself that you never knew before, the cards are simply helping you to do this. That said, I am still amazed at the coincidence that certain cards always seem to pop up for certain readings. Enjoy the cards, Ruby7

Isn't it amazing, when we just look ate cards and think "wow, this stuff really works!"
When I'm doing readings for people I really don't know, I look at the cards (usually the first 10 seconds gives me the first clear message, then I start talking and get into details) and sometimes I think "what if what I'm about to say is totally off-topic???"... I usually take a deep breath and put all my trust on those little cardboards with drawings... It has worked so far...
I also admit that in the begining it was very difficult for me to trust 100% on what I was seeing and in what I was about to say. I was raised without any system of belief, so I guess it was weird for me to trust something I was not "seeing". However, things changed because the cards seldom failed... and they bring wondreful insights and inner visions of things sometimes we simply don't want to see.
OK, this was supposed to be a small post, sorry for the rambling :D

Yeah, it still trips me out when Im so right on that it's amazing. Pretty neat how 78 lil cards can be so right on. But whats even BETTER is watching your mom look at you in awe with how accurate things are, and your so amazed yourself that you have to try and keep a semi-straight face.

Hi Shoshin,
I am definitely no old-timer in tarot. But I have been studying tarot for 5 years now and it still amazes me how accurate these readings are. Maybe you will get used to it sooner than I will.
I guess thats part of the fun. :) :)

Hello, I must agree with Umbrae, I have been working with the Tarot for over 28 years and they still surprise me. I can remember quite clearly being shocked by the Tarot the first time I did areading for another person, the accuracy was surprising and my client has been with me ever since.

Yeah, along with the other long time readers, I still get freaked out too. I did a reading for my sister not so long ago, and we were both freaked out at how straight-on 1-2-3 accurate it was. Kind of funny, since I've been reading cards for her since she can remember, LOL.
