How many times do you give yourself a reading?

Come on taroholics how often do you consult your tarot deck? I don't do my own readings many more but once in a blue moon I just ask a yes or no question and just choose one card.

Hi Maud! I voted 5-7 a month. Usually it is a little more, but not so much that I loose count. I do daily draws, but more to study the cards than as a reading :) nice poll Mimi

Hi Maud, I voted at the 2-5 level (I'm figuring per month). Though this varies. Sometimes I'll feel like doing a daily 3-card reading... and will do this for a few days or weeks. But most of the time I only do readings on specific things going on in my life at the time. So, its whenever I feel I need to do a reading and it ends up being pretty sporadic.

I voted "Lost count", although I do keep track of my readings in a journal and a spreadsheet. I primarily use Tarot for meditation and personal / spiritual insights, and perform self-readings approximately 2-4 times a week, or around 10 - 15 times a month.

I voted 2-5 times a month. At the moment, I'm focussing on 'Wisdom Readings', so the readings aren't really for me, but about the world, universe, etc, in general... The last one I did was 'What is the Summer Solstice about?' I very rarely do personal readings for myself, unless I have real trouble making up my mind on something, or feel a little fuzzy about a situation. Kiama

I voted 2-5 times a month, but it's probably less than that. I only do a reading when I need advice on something, and this varies according to what is going on in my life. So sometimes it's 2 or 3 times a month, sometimes I don't do a reading for 2 or 3 months...

I chose 2-5, which is sort of true and sort of not. You see, every month I set out to do a one card draw every morning. It goes well for the first couple of days, then it it pretty spotty the rest of the month. I usually average 10-12 days. But big spreads, I rarely do those. Maybe once a month if at all.

I seldom do personal readings, having relied on family members for support and guidance. Probably 3 or 4 self-readings over the past year. However, in light of some profound changes in my life, I think I may begin to read for myself more frequently. I've been a bit on the snotty side lately, seemingly taking offense at little things. It hasn't been all that often, but it is out of character for me. I'm reading Tarot Shadow Work, which explores suppressed aspects of one's personality. Perhaps that is a place to begin.

I voted at the daily level, due to my habit of drawing a daily card. When it comes to more complex readings, I tend not to bog myself down with these. Particularly because I find it very hard to be objective when it comes to myself!

I chose 2-5, and that's probably about right. I'll get stuck thinking about something and use a reading to help me shift perspective. Sometimes just figuring out the question to ask the cards will do most of the work for me!

I also voted 2-5 per month, and that's usually about it. I never did that much, but lately I've been trying some new spreads, and I always try them first on me, so this last couple months I've donw 2/3 month. Besides that, only when I'm feeling confused about something, or if want some answers about problems to solve... Anjo

I also voted for 2-5 per month, but I try to draw a card or cards on a daily basis, but big spreads are usually 2 to 5 a month.

i voted 2-5 times. sometimes i feel if something important has come up that i feel i would need guidance in, that is the time. i have to admit, it has been usually about money and relationship.

I voted daily....but its probably not daily. Probably every other day...so...like 15 a month....but sometimes its just lil pulls of cards and sometimes I do bigger.

I find that every few days I throw a spread for myself, just as a kind of 'weather report'. It works out to about once a week. You know -- you have your current meditations, you have the books you're reading, you have your own personal or family concerns... and the Tarot is perfect for that: you gather your thoughts and lay down a spread. There in front of you is a picture of your own thinking. I know a lot of people say one shouldn't read for oneself. I think one absolutely SHOULD read for oneself, the same as you would for anyone else.

Tarot is a tool. I am the craftsman. I always sketch *before* I pick up the tools, thus I'm not doing readings daily. It gets used without me picking up a deck often, due to my visualization techniques in meditation. The visualizations and what I see is the important thing, not the cards. The deck is a horn, I supply the air and the thought. I am suprised at the seeming lack of importance placed on this by others who read or at least I dont' see this mentioned so much on this forum.

I voted daily, as I often do a daily spread. This started out as a learning process, first getting to know the cards better, then combining them in a reading, and I was surprised at how often they were spot-on. So I often still do a daily draw, although not really every day anymore. I sometimes do bigger spreads for myself as well, but if I want a reading on a big issue I also like someone else to do a reading for me - I guess because I like the human interaction, and like to hear someone else's opinion.

I selected 2-5. I wasn't counting my almost daily one card pulls in the total because I don't consider them a reading based on the intended reason for the pull. (Though most times they are very fitting to the day.) I use whichever deck I am trying to become more familiar with. I pull the card take about 30 minutes with each card pulled. I look at it journal my thoughts and observations, then read a bit on it, add extra bits to the journal if I feel the need, then until I pull another look for card moments as I go about the day. Don't know how to answer this. I pull a card for the day about 2 -5 times per week depending on my schedule and it's more for meditational purposes. I only do a full reading (anything more than a card or two) about once every month or two. So I don't know what would be the appropriate box to check, Woof

I do not have the habit of drawing a daily card, but i do give myself some readings, sometimes. That's why i chose 2-5...even if some readings are only study readings ;) ~Yuko

I voted 2 - 5, but it varies and is probably more. Heck, I've done five today. For a long time, I drew one a day, then increased that to two a day. I felt that the second card gave more depth to the answers I was getting. Then, I was recovering from a long illness and sometimes I'd get encouraging cards, then nothing but gloom and doom several days in a row. I figured the gloom and doom would happen anyhow, and getting that kind of a reading from the cards just added worry to the evil brew. Recently I've been doing 3-card draws, Issue, Advice, Outcome, and been getting cards which are both encouraging and accurate. I don't read for others except friends and family members and that mostly for fun.
