I have been wondering about this for a while...
I sleep in a Hanged Man position: I don't do it on purpose most times, and it feels very... healing, I rest very well that way.
Now I heard there's a theory about this? psycological one?
So I MUST ask...
In you life, your real everyday mindless and hyper life, have you ever noticing something like this? Assuming the position or the attitude of a certain card? And what about the meaning?
Fact is I am so so so curious about this Hanged Man thing... :| *lol*

Pollux,
You're not alone! I also sleep in the "Hanged Man" position (one leg under the other at a right angle), and have been doing this for years, even before I started to study the Tarot. It is a very comfortable and "grounding" body position for me to relax and recharge.
You mentioned a theory about this... any references or links you can provide?

Me too. Always the right leg, when sleeping on my back, which I sometimes do.
Ergonomically, a position like this (given the sleeper has a certain degree of "natural turnout" in the hip socket) will de-emphasize the curve of the lower back. So, it feels good ... releases the lower back muscles, stretches my (right) hip socket, and makes me feel ... good.
In the dorms, I used to sleep with my cot next to the wall, and the wall was on my right side. I modified my position so that I often slept with my knee at a 90* angle to the wall, or with my entire leg resting backwards, towards the chest (perhaps a "yawning Hanged Man" asana/pose? ;))
How *funny* to hear of others who sleep like me! :D

LOL,
Atleast now I know I'm not so strange. I sleep with my thumb over my third eye (hand in the "thumb sucking position).

I sleep on my back in the Hanged Man postion with my right leg bent too, very much for the same reasons as Alissa, I think it makes for a very natural spine stretch and if you have backache it eases it, well for me anyway, I've slept like this for a while now and its very comfortable. My husband sleeps on his stomach in the Hanged Man postion but with his left leg bent :)
