We have just got our hands on some proof cards of our deck(YES!) - happy, happy, happy.
They are perfect except for the fact that being the first proof batch the cut is a little "fluffy" on top. Usually the printer would throw these out (being perfectionist they intend to cut, believe it or not, about fifty batches before the "form" - i.e. the specially-shaped knife - gets used sufficiently to give an absolutely clean cut and they begin to do the "real" final cards) but we have said that we would like to have these first batches so that we can "release" them in Prague rather than scrap them (which seems such a waste). We've already done this with a few cards - which are now out there roaming in the city.
If you happen to be in Prague in the next week or so, look out for these released cards - they are all going to be sent on their way (with good wishes) in various locations in the centre. We are hoping they find good homes :-)
(ps - "tarot crossing" in homage to bookcrossing.com, mentioned on another thread a while back)

Karen, how wonderful that you've held the proof in your hands! Your plan to release the cards sounds around Prague sounds like an excellent idea. Congratulations to you and your partner on the birth of this beautiful "baby"!

Thank-you! Yes, it's unbelievable to actually have some cards in our hands (only one sheet of Pentacles so far, but the rest coming tomorrow).
It is about to POUR down here, so maybe I won't release any more cards today. They are matt lacquered, but only lightly (not PVA plasticised laquer like modern cards) so they wouldn't survive a real soaking. All from yesterday seem to have gone - wonder where/who to?
I want to try leaving some at the sites that we used - the Queen of Cups on Charles Bridge (statue of Saint Barbara), The Devil at the U Fleku beer hall (wonder what people will make of that?!), The Chariot on the road up to the Castle. Oh, The Hermit in Golden Lane (Street of the Alchemists) - it goes on. Looks like I'll need to get out a good pair of walking shoes.
Mags - will you really release some in London? That would be fun.

I'd be happy to release some at Framlingham Castle. :)
Brilliant idea!
Did you hear about the guy who got an Arts Council grant to release wallets in Leeds?

Dear Major Tom,
I would love to have some released at Framlingham Castle - I like the place a lot (just love Fram in general). I like the idea of someone wandering around only to find... (which card/s? interesting thought - nice to see what people make of it).
Okay - if you pm me your address I will send you a random selection next week.
Alex on the way home last night " Oh no, you have TWO in your hand!" - well, all I can say is they were both free before I got there (and were gone this morning) - Knight of Pentacles and Queen of Pentacles.
BTW Tom, you need to be very discrete when leaving them or kind people come running after you saying "you dropped something!" - be warned.
