I tried the search engine and didn't see a thread specific to quotes, though I know they're scattered here and there throughout the threads. I like the quote part of Tarot Passages so much that I thought it would be inspirational to have many to read in one place. So, if you would kindly share some favorite quotes; perhaps, like the one I'm going to share, one that was just too long for a signature...
"One of my more profound theories is that it's unwise to think too long or too hard about anything you enjoy doing. Otherwise, you will discover that the thing is totally absurd, and the fun will go out of it. That is why I never try to think hard and long about fishing. I prefer to enjoy it as a thing of beauty, a blending of skill and hope and luck and wisdom and an occasional encounter with the unknown and the unknowable." Patrick F. McManus, outdoorsman humor writer.

My favourite quote about Tarot, but alas I don't know who first used it:
"Last night we played poker using tarot cards. Someone got a full house and 4 people died."

"Is that a tarot deck in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?"

That sounds an awful lot like something comedian Steven Wright would say, but I don't know for sure. :)

I just remembered -- it is Steven Wright. The pacing and timing is *really* him, even written down!

It's a tough call which of these "quotes" is the most inspiring so far, but I think Rusty Neon's Steven Wright one- makes me want to play poker with a Tarot deck}:-)

Yes, according to my google searches, it appears to be Stephen Wright's line. There are various reported permutations of the text of the line, but it takes the general form "I stayed up all night playing poker with tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died."
