I know we've talked about this before, but I've just had it happen again........where a deck you previously hated or didn't connect with all the sudden jumps up and says "Hey, have you changed your mind about me yet?" LOL
This has happened to me with the Haindl deck just recently. :) I had seen it in a store a year or so ago. This particular store had the full deck available to flip through so I could see all the cards. Ick! I didn't like them at all - too dark and scary.
Then I had someone (Gerbear :* ) not too long ago tell me this was his favorite deck so it got me looking at it again. THEN someone had it up for trade. -- (I"m being set up here! hehe)
So of course I had to do the trade. LOL In the trade I got the deck and the readers book. I absolutely love this deck now! :) The book was a big part of the understanding process though and I don't think I'd like the deck as much without it. It pointed out symbols and artwork I would have never noticed before and also pointed out how much this deck is nature oriented (which I never would have known).
Just wanted to pass on the story. :D Also want to let everyone (who cares or misses me :* hehe) know that I've been lurking just not posting much. :D So I still check in every day or so to read what everyone has been saying......make sure I'm not missing any new decks I have to have or missing anything important. :* :* :*
**Gerbear, I LOVE THIS DECK!! Thanks for getting me interested enough to look at it again!! (big hug)

I care! I missed you!! Welcome back!!!
:D
Yes, it is quite a strange occurence, that "fickle taroist" thing, huh? I have recently experienced it with the Thoth deck, myself.
Again.
I wouldn't mind this back-and-forth, love/hate stuff if it wasn't so expensive. I can't seem to decide that I don't like a deck 'till I own it, then I trade it...then I want to try it again, so I buy it again (too impatient to try to trade for it), then I don't like it...blah, blah, blah...
This will be my SIXTH Thoth deck!!!
This one gets ceremoniously burried in the backyard if it doesn't work out...well, okay, so I don't have a backyard...but if I did...
:)

I've missed you on the boards, too, and I'm glad to know you're okay! So pleased that you like the Haindl now -- it is a very rich deck, I think. There have been a couple of decks that made me cringe initially, and they ended up being favorites, so I know the feeling -- it's like a whole new world opens up. By the way, I'm really enjoying the Swedish Witch Tarot you were kind enough to sell me -- loved it right off the bat!

It's nice to be missed! :D Thanks Tauni and Astrea! :*
Astrea, I'm glad you connected right away with the Swedish Witch! I still have my copy but am not using it much. It's a very cute and cuddly deck. And obviously since I'm connecting with the Haindl that's not what I'm into right now! LOL
I'm really, really enjoying the Haindl. Even the "scary" cards (10 of swords) don't freak me out when I draw them. For example, the other day I drew the 10 of swords/"ruin" as the card I need to concentrate on to be happy!!! ROFL
I'm getting wonderfully insightful readings! My very first reading with it showed me (in no uncertain terms) that I had been way too serious lately - hadn't been having enough fun!! Now how's that for a "dark, scary" deck? LOL

| faunabay... it is funny... Just a couple of days ago I was looking at an old thread (don't recall which one now) and read one of your postings. "Gee... I wonder where faunabay has been lateyly..." So even this old bird noticed the hole in the boards caused by your abscence. ;) Originally posted by faunabay

LOL Your Tarot deck saying "go have fun"???? Now that scary! :D It took me a while to decide on the Haindl too... but I really do love the deck. It has always given me good readings, though there has been one or two I've had a little trouble wrapping my mind around, but once I do... they're always things I, or the person I'm reading for, really needed.
Good to have you back...
