Past lifes in Tarot and cards?

Hola to all: I have always have this doubt within me, and I want to share it with u, so you can give me some feedback about it. Thru the years (in a span about 10 years) I have being told (by 3 different people) that I appear to be married in the cards (when I´m not, before and after my divorce). They say that my "husband in another life or some kind of spirit" doesn´t seem to let go of me in this life. And he doesn´t want me to be with anyone else, or that he will leave me when I find a new soulmate in this life. Is this all b.s.? I did not believe that. It´s so easy to blame the universe for our mistakes and responsabilities. But with my luck with men I´m begginig to have doubts. It´s a reallity that men come easily, but they also go easlily. This people were not only tarot readers but also they claimed to be "mediums". What do u think? Have u heard something familiar? or this are just tricks to make you pay for a "despojo"? Help Please!

Explore whether it is you who is keeping him there (think honestly and hard about this). My King of Swords stays with me always - that is my father who died - I ask him to stay with me and be my guide - (many people on this site have already heard me speak of him, sorry for the repetition, guys). Hi vivalavidapr, and welcome to Aeclectic! I am a bit sceptical about being able to see past lives in Tarot cards, although if the people you went to see were 'mediums' aswell as Tarot readers, they may have been getting their information from sources other than just Tarot. I agree with you wholeheartedly that it is far too easy to blame the universe for things that happen (I've bene known to do it myself when I'm angry!) and to refuse to take responsibility by using 'Past Lives' as an excuse... I know somebody who insisted he was an alcoholic because of his 'past life'. I certainly think that we can discover what we may have learned in our past lives, although I'm not sure we can say things such as 'You were an Egyptian princess in your past incarnation', simply because I don't think it possible to be able to see that much specific detail in the cards without also having some psychic ability. This all does assume, of course, that past lives exist, which some people may also be sceptical about. So, in conclusion, my personal opinion on this is that maybe psychics and mediums can see your past lives, (if they exist) but I don't think we can see past lives, at least not the specifics, in Tarot cards. And it certainly shouldn't give us an excuse to foist repsonsibility away from ourselves. :D Kiama

"And it certainly shouldn't give us an excuse to foist repsonsibility away from ourselves." - Kiama Well said Kiama!!! welcome vivalavidapr to Aeclectic!!! personally, i believe in past lives and their effect in our current lives, but as Kiama said, let's not make it as an excuse. i do'nt mean to be too personal, but you've said that men come and go in your life. have you thought about why this happens? it might be that you have reasons that make you not ready for a relationship or just plain coincidence that the men who court you are not worth it. "despojo" - i assume this is an exorcism of some sort; you will probable need this only in very extreme situations; have you felt the disturbing presence of this past life lover of yours? :smoker:

This is a very interesting theme and one that I would not have even tried to discuss when I first came to Aeclectic. For someone like me, quite without knowledge of these possibilities then, such a discussion would have been impossible. I’ve gained a lot more knowledge, although I’m still quite new in understanding, and have come to believe in reincarnation and karma. I must stress that my understanding is very incomplete. My search at Aeclectic has been a spiritual one, trying to see my life in a different way and to understand how I can progress. Both Tarot and astrology have been critical to that process. There have been certain patterns in my life that I have not been able to understand until now except through astrology and its suggestions about personal responsibility but also about psychological and spiritual heredity. I remember a moment of consciousness about something I was doing when I was four years old. This was an adult consciousness – a clear shaft of full adult awareness - and the memory of it has never left me. A few weeks ago, in an astrological reading from Liz Greene, through Astrodienst, I understood it for the first time. It was to do with something passed down from other lives in my family I believe, a kind of spiritual inheritance, particularly from something to do with my mother. However, to get to the main point – one of my life’s major challenges – a spiritual and psychological situation reappeared over a year ago in another form. This is what brought me to Aeclectic. Without going into details, I do believe this challenge is a symptom of something I was not able to deal with in a past life, and I think I died in that life because of it. I began to face it in my 20’s and did around the time of my first Saturn return but did not go far enough and it reappeared a short while ago, a few years before my second Saturn Return. Now is my chance to deal with it. I’ve had a number of insights into this situation over the last year and have become increasingly aware of what it might mean. A few weeks ago I did a reading based on the Karmic Close Up spread in Konraad’s Classic Spreads and as closely as one could, I confirmed what had happened in this past life. The cards were completely congruent with my astrological chart and with the tarot associations with my birth date. The insight and explicit message in the reading was also congruent with my own internal spiritual awareness. What I am trying to say is this. I have come to believe in reincarnation over the last year. If you don’t believe that then what I say won’t make much sense to you. This belief and a different understanding of my life has come though the study of tarot and astrology, and I think these areas of knowledge offer much to spiritual understanding. The tarot has given me much insight into many things, but the reading I did a few weeks ago was the clearest message I could possibly have had about a past life and its implication for my present life. The reading, I stress, was part of a process of developing knowledge. It didn't just happen like ZAP! It means now that I must take MORE responsibility for my own life because I am now aware. I have always believed, as others state about themselves in this thread, that we need to take responsibility ultimately for our lives. Learning to do this is a process based on awareness and the issues, however. So I’d say to you, keep progressing in your spiritual journey through Tarot and other things, and you will find the answer to your questions eventually.

Beautifully spoken Moongold, I was very moved by your description. Over 10 years ago I spent exactly one year, to the day, studying the I Ching intensively. I spent several hours every day writing, comparing, associating. I literally copied out a 400 page book in longhand, following the order of the Houses rather than the book order, but it came to the same thing. I copied out the Wings, the works and wrote out associations. By the end of the year I could see spirits, and what is more they could look through my eyes. I was driving along Glendale Avenue one day, and one of them kept exclaiming about the driving and how fast it was and so on. Trust me, I am not even exagerating slightly. But, like in my niece Coral's Sailor Moon stories, I could not 'hold' my transformation. When I finished my plan of studies, they disappeared. Past lives? I kind of thought they might have been 'ancestors'. Next question.... can you see them in tarot? I have had past life readings from three people who are very good at it, napaea, HOLMES and Thirteen. And guess what, I still don't know. Someone with strong psychic abilities told me some past life material, and I believe it, but it wasn't tarot. Sorry, doesn't help, but I think some people can do it. It is just that the receivers can't always verify if they are as 'dense' as me. :)

I only have done 3 past life readings (one for a friend, one for a querent and one for myself), strange enough all three readings revealed a "hard" past life. The friend was cheating on her husband in that life (in this life she is about getting divorced), the querent was domineering her husband and I was a person who was very hearless to others and had a violent death. All not very "nice" past lives.
