Music during or to enhance readings.

Do you play music durning your readings, or use music to enhance your readings in anyway? I sometimes like to have total silence, and then other times, depending on my mood, I love to have some classical, or maybe a little Enya, or Delerium playing softly in the background. I find that sometimes the music brings out certain emotions and makes it eaiser for me to interpret the reading.

What are everyone else's feelings on this subject?

It depends on my mood...sometimes I like to just listen to the music of the world going by, while I lay out the cards.

Today, it was the sound of the wind chimes outside, and the tinkling bells of my rain box inside.

Some days I like Mozart...and some days it's gotta be Wagner...or the soundtarck to the movie Stargate.

And lately, I have really enjoyed doing my readings to the music from Cirque Du Soliel...especially Allegria.

Personally, I prefer to not have background music when reading... irrespective of mood.

I love to listen to music while I read tarot, although it has to be something totally relaxing and mellow, which means no Rockmonoff (SP?) for me during readings! Chopin has always worked good for me...his nocturnes are extremely relaxing to me. I also have found that Loreanna Mckinnet is nice, although some of the words can distract from my readings. I also wonder if maybe it has an influence on the reading, unconsciously?

Oh yah, Segovia is nice to listen to, light classical guitar...it's beautiful...*sigh*

Yeah, I'm with jmd on this one -- no music. Ambient sound from the world around is okay.

Most of the time I prefer music, but more of a mood-setting, ambient type music. Classical is really too heavy; instead, I prefer a Native American flute solo going on in the background, or something else from the 'new age' genre, with no vocals. "Secret Garden" is often good.

I can read with background noise, like the tv or quiet chatter, but I don't like specific noise - I couldn't read if I had music playing. But then I can't even light a candle when I'm reading because years ago I used to do candle meditation and the flame still draws me and I loose all focus lol :)

I usually just sit in a quiet place, normally on the floor (which doesn't seem to be that common among us?). I find it easier to concentrate without distractions.
