What do you do after a reading, to get back to the "real" world again. Sometimes it's hard for me to concentrate on worldly matters again after I've done a reading.

Hi, Lady Mary. After readings, I wash my hands in cold water and eat something (like a piece of fruit) and take a short walk. These actions seem to be very grounding for me.

Lady Mary...Hello
... I don't do anything special after I am done with the reading, other that reflect on it, but I can go about my ordinary routine tasks and reflect on that reading at the same time.
Is it your own readings that you have difficulty exiting or other peoples... I need to meditate longer on the situation if it is for myself.... usually the answer is not so clear to me. Sometimes I have to sleep on it before I realize clarity of my own situations.
But for other people it is just mind frame set.

I find reading for others very exhausting for some reason, so after a reading for somebody else I like to eat lots of starchy food (Pot Noodles are suprisingly good for this!) to take away the 'weak' feeling that accompanies the exhaustion. I also drink lots of water to refresh me and take away the 'slogging' feeling.
Readings for myself on the other hand are fine, and I don't do anything after them exceot maybe jot down some notes in my Tarot journal.

I usually feel quietly exhiliarated after a reading. I like to stay with that feeling for a while because it is a happy one. I usually sit quietly with it, close my eyes and let the images of the cards or whatever float by.
Once though, I sat in the chair and fell asleep :).

I have a glass of water, sometimes take a shower. I usually feel good but tired, expecially when you know that even if you made one person smile or have faith in the positive makes all the tiredness worth while.

Sometimes if I feel spaced out or heady after a reading, I know it's because I don't have all of my energy in my body - I'm not completely grounded. So I'll rub my bare feet or 'socked' feet on the floor. This helps ground me out.

I love to take a bath with seasalt in it.
Sometimes I really enjoy having a drink, that'll be the celtic comimg out in me! :D
Or I spend time with husband, debriefing can be helpful after 12 readings in a day!

I wash my face & hands. It not only refreshes, but figuratively washes away the preoccupation. I also tend to drink a lot of water, which I drink throughout a reading session, including tea. I do most of my Tarotwork in my kitchen, which means I remove the phone from the kitchen & close the door to avoid interruptions. I open the door & touch base with my family as well as resume the usual activities. Depending on the time, I either do household things or go outside to walk on the grass, connect with the trees. Sometimes I continue to get sporadic impressions for a few hours or a couple of days. I note them & when they stop, I contact the client again.
