Hi everyone!
I did a small three card reading for myself this morning - by way of 'having a go' again after so long.
Only a three cards to see how my day was going to be.
My mind ran amok imagining all sorts even with a mere three cards.
Feel stupid now as I only did a really quick 'how is my day going to be'!

You know Craghopper I envy you being able to read 'just' three cards.
Whenever I've tried a three-card reading, my mind goes blank. I'll know the meanings of the cards, sure, but for some reason I can't get much more than that.
Now you say your mind runs amok and can conjure up all sorts, well, no need for you to feel stupid, sounds like great stuff to me!
Gloria.

Try a one card reading next time. You obviously are receiving too much information to handle in one go. Sounds like you're very attuned to the universe's messages, but you need to "learn" to filter them down to their basics.
And do some grounding beforehand.
I have a feeling you've got a wonderful Tarot career in front of you. One day you may do this as a profession.........

Hi craghopper!
Firstly, congrats and well done for being brave and easing yourself back into Tarot... Like anything, if we're driven away from it for some reason, it's very difficult to pick it up again.
Secondly, have you tried writing the reading down? This may help you to focus your thoughts and slow down your mind, because when you write you have to think at the speed of the writing. This gives you more time to think, and I often find that writing it down means I notice little things I wouldn't otherwise have picked up on.
You could keep a special notebook (A Tarot journal) just for writing down your readings, no matter how small they are. :D

Thanks everyone for your replies. I think my point was that I seemed automatically to err on the negative side of the reading, when I clearly had two options.
It only occured to me mid way through lunch what the reading was hinting at - it was so obvious in the end.
