Does anyone practice using there left hand to open doors, pick up thing, take a drink out of a cup or operate the mouse of the computer? People left handed do you try things like this with your right. Clients that have a hard time using the left hand to pick up cards I explain that if they started doing small things with their left ( or right) would strengthen their intuition. You have to think to do it & then it gets easier. I notice now I use my left hand without thinking about it sometimes. I think this is an intuition tip for everyone. Any comments? yes or no

Well, I ask my clients to pick cards with their left hand. Right handed ask why, I tell them it is their intuitive hand. But, the left handed people think I psychically knew they were left handed!

I had an Art Teacher that would make us draw with our left hand. He said it forced us to use the right side of our brains ( the creative side).

I can write with my left hand but my little boy can too, he's 6 and when he started writing his teacher wasn't sure whether he was left or right handed, but he favoures his right hand now. It does force you to think differently, I always lay and turn the cards with my left hand.

hi,
There is also the saying that your left hand (particularly your left ring finger) is connected to your heart. And that is why the wedding band is worn on your left ring finger...
As far as using my left hand, I do occasionally. After reading this, I think I will try a little harder..
Thanks,
CJ

i'm right-handed, but i favor the left side when walking into rooms, using tarot, and just picking things up in general...it's good times.
i get read better (for myself) when i make it a point to use my left hand to cut the cards. there has to be a connection

That's really interesting, I'll try to do that more often.

Hi all,
I am very strongly left handed. The only major things I can do with my right hand are: use a mouse and throw a Frisbee. I can do both of these things with my left hand as well so I don’t really know why I can do these two things with my right hand but I can’t do other things with my right hand.
An exercise that will help balance both sides of your brain is:
Imagine a line starting in your top left brain area. Draw the line down from the left brain to your left eye. Continue the line from the left eye to the right top brain area. Then draw the line down to the right eye and then back to the top left brain area. Repeat this path over and over. It makes the same lemniscate shape that is above the Magician’s head. Occasionally reverse the direction this path takes.

hmmm... thanks for the idea, I will try using my left hand more for ordinary tasks. I fan the cards for some decks but when cutting I do use the left hand.

Huh! I've never given it any thought but I'm intrigued with the ideas presented. Thanks for giving me something new to contemplate.

Do you use your right hand to cut your cards etc. How does that work for you when you are left handed?

Left hand cuts the cards. It seems to work fine.

I am right hand dominate, but I think that comes from school.
still I have been known to get tiered with one hand while writing & then write with the other.
When I was in kindergarden, I was using my left hand & the teacher "corrected" me.....but I have always used my left hand for just about everything. It was my grandmother who noticed I was dealing cards with my left- I was about 7 or 8 at that time.
so pulling Tarot cards with my left just comes naturally.
I am, what is called, goofy-footed (skate/surf terms).....the only thing I can't do, switch-hit.....

I also have the querent (or myself, if I'm reading for myself) cut with the left or "weak" hand. To relinquish control, to let the cards fall where they may, so to speak.

You know..I had all but forgotten about my poor little left hand ... After reading this thread, I think I will try harder to get in touch with my creative side again.
Thanks

I used to cut the deck with my left hand into 3 stacks. Then I started using a method where I would still cut the deck into 3 stacks, but would cut a third of the deck to the left with my left hand, and a third of the deck to my right with my right hand, leaving the pile in the middle as the one I would use to take cards from.
Recently, I've been feeling that I should go back to my original method of using my left hand only to cut the deck with. I've never thought about using my left hand to do other things besides cutting cards--I'm gonna try it and see if it gets some more of my intuitive juices flowing! Thanks for the suggestion!
