That didn't take me long eh? I was just wondering where everyone keeps their cards. Mine are wrapped in a silk scarf that cost almost as much as the cards, and kept inside a beautiful hand-carved wooden box that I got from this neat little shop called 'The Dragon's Den' in Penticton, B.C. It cost me $30-$35 (more than the cards) but it was worth it. My cards are definitely spoiled :D
Here's a picture of the top of my box :>
I'd love to know where everyone else keeps their cards.

Um...most of them are on the bookshelf on top the stack of unread science fiction books. Not that glamorous, but they're in easy reach.

Your box is very beautiful. I think I'm jealous. I keep my decks in three places in my tarot room. My kids call it The Spirit Room. The ones that I use the most are in the drawer of my tarot desk. Some are hanging on a peg rack on the wall. And the rest are in a big closet that I have shelves in. The oracle decks are on one shelf and the tarot on another. Two other shelves hold my tarot book collection. They are all cozy in tarot bags that I make for them. My bags are beaded with double draw strings. My Robin Wood deck has a special box, it's green with bumblebees on it. The Faierie's Oracle is always out on the desk in their bag (purple with white stars) where I can keep my eye on them! Namaste
Edited to say: Congratulation on your 100th post. And your avitar is lovely.

Well, my cards aren't as spoiled. The Thoth lg version is in a box I got at a tag sale. It is too large for a bag, and the box it came in fell apart!
My Camoin Marseille deck does have a place of honor in an empty cigar box specially decorated with love by my little girl Rachael. I handle this card with special care because it was so hard to come by. My Ancestral Path and my Tarot of Prague live in my pocket book. Of course they are in bags. The rest are on my shelf in my computer desk.
I do love that box though. I am definitely going to decorate my own box with a moon motive for my Drogi deck. This is another deck that was hard to come by.

Where it's nice and warm. I hate Wisconsin winters. I'll be right there! Just need to find a suite case big enough to hold all my tarot decks.

I have six decks with bags.
I prefer to carry my decks in individual bags with matching cloths, because I like to travel with my cards.
Animal-Wise: Green silk bag/animal print bandana.
T. of the Cloisters: Black velvet round bag/blue cotton cloth.
Shakespeare Oracle: Blue velvet bag/blue cotton cloth.
Faeries Oracles: Blue denim bag/blue denim bandana.
Playing cards: Floral cotton bag/floral cotton cloth.
...and the Radiant Rider-Waite has borrowed the bag my Visconti Gold usually lives in. It is a neoprene bag with a screen-print design of two little Renaissance angels (detail from Raphael's "Sistine Madonna"); I saved it from the mundane life of a cosmetic bag!
Tarot receptacles and textiles are almost as fun as the decks themselves!
:)
EDIT: Many congrats on post #100! I remember when you were so sure it was too far away! Before you know it, you will be an "Elder," no problem... :D

Glad you all like my box :> But I'm sure if I had as many tarot decks as some of you do, I wouldn't care so much either haha....they'd probably all be laying in a drawer or something.
My next goal: 250 posts! :)

I keep my decks in a shoebox, but now my collection has outgrown it and I am now looking for a bigger box.

Hey Dead Star, congrats on your 100th post. Way to go. :)
I keep my decks in my bedside locker (I think maybe Americans call this a nightstand!?) It's got an open compartment at the top and the decks stack in nicely. I'm in the process of acquiring bags and wraps for them, so some have some haven't. Haindl (which is awesomely beautiful, but looks so serious I haven't dared to go near it yet) is stashed in a sober black and gold bag, waiting.... ! Sacred Circle is wrapped in a lovely blue and green hand-dyed silk scarf. I live in a small house and have a perennial problem with lack of bookspace, so my Tarot books are stacked in a big seagrass basket next to the bedside locker.
Oh Lark, I do so envy you having a Tarot room. We're planning a house extension/renovation for early next year, and hopefully a study/yoga room will be included. Maybe I'll be able to make create a Tarot corner there.
Blessings,
Kate

All of my decks (over 25 now) reside in a clear plastic airtight box, with a box of whole cloves sewn into a cheesecloth bag thrown inside to scent the decks. They smell wonderfully of cloves now.

Love cloves. I sew little bags with some of my favorite cone incenses in them and scatter those around the shelves and drawers. Also I have so many decks in bags that I sometimes forget which deck is in which bag. I bought little square tags with strings attached to them at an office suppy store. I wrote the name of the deck on the tag and tied it to the string of the bag. What a relief no more rooting around in every bag to find the deck I want. I would eventually like to use ribbons or maybe even cross stitch the name of the deck on the bag. Namaste
Edited to add: Bean Freasa believe and you shall have. There is nothing so good for the soul as giving yourself a little space of your own.
Tauni you are evil! }) 75 degrees! Tarot Shopping! I'm sobbing into my mittens as I type.

Until last year, my decks were in their original boxes. My best friend gave me, for Christmas, a beautiful box in mahogany. Since then, I keep the decks in there, in Ziploc bags. I've started making a pouch but it's more a disaster than something else (I hate sewing and I'm terrible a it), so I think I should buy them instead. The problem now is that I have so many decks that there is not enough space in my box. Maybe I should also buy another box as well.

Bean Feasa, that is the coolest thing I've ever heard! Bedside locker! *giggles*

If I had just one deck, or even one very favourite deck, I would give it a special box too; but I could not choose one deck over the others so they all have to stay in their bags. Most bags are self-made, many crocheted in colours matching the deck, but I always keep my eyes open for special fabrics or little bags that would suit my decks. I think it is an additional hobby to tarot.
The decks I use most are kept in a basket together with my spread cloths. My other decks are kept in a big basket. My oracle decks are kept in another bag. This makes it easier to find things.
