When I was learning reading cards, this one, very good fortuneteller, told me that Sunday is a day when cards "rest" and they never tell the truth then. Have you heard about it?

I can't say that I agree with this. What was her reasoning behind this? I am thinking that Sunday is a holy day to her(?).
However, all "religions" do not have Sunday as a holy day.
You could do a simple spread and see if the cards "lie".

I have never heard of that..it is interesting...I guess everything needs rest one day..I would not think the day matters.

I guess Tallarico that her reasoning for this is her 20 year long experience in reading cards and going beyond that. I've been reading cards for quite a long time now but I've never done it on Sundays. But I think RedWood is right. Everything needs to rest one day. Maybe for her (the fortuneteller) it's Sunday.

Yes I think that makes sense. My decks have been getting too much rest. LOL, they need a day of action! :)

I don't think it is the cards that need a rest day, but the person reading them! :D If we read Tarot for a living, it can often be very tiring and the more tiring it gets, the more difficult it becomes to give an accurate reading. So, having a good rest from it at least once a week gets us back on our feet, refreshed, and ready to give wonderful readings again.
This is just personal opinion, and others have different views, but I see the cards as just normal objects, and I wouldn't expect my hoover or my kettle to have a rest day! ;) (I sometimes wish my hoover could have a rest day!)
But when somebody isn't reading cards for a living, and only does at the max one reading a day, I doubt it would tire them out so a rest wouldn't be needed as much.

I'm sure this is a Christian custom - she probably is one, and since they say that Sunday (actually the 7th day, but that's another subject...) is supposed to be a day of rest, I'm sure she just extended that to her cards as well.
