On behalf of Talking Tarot, I extend a warm welcome to: Diana, its "newest" moderator!
Diana is certainly not new to moderating nor to Aeclectic Tarot, but she is taking Umbrae's place. She brings with her prodigious knowledge of Tarot & experience with Tarot. Many members are familiar with Diana via other forums.
Whilst Umbrae has stepped down as moderator to devote his attention to a new project, we are glad this is not farewell. Though his presence as moderator is missed, he will still be active as a member. We wish him well in his pursuit & look forward to his continued presence at Aeclectic Tarot.
Again, welcome, Diana!

Diana, it is truly a pleasure to welcome you as a new moderator of this area of the forum. I wish you all the best in this role (and in all of your endeavors), and Umbrae great success in his new ventures.

As I said to Diana in a PM ...
I feel so lucky to have two such wonderful people as co-moderators ... Meewah the quiet sage, and Diana the bold soothsayer.
:D :D Welcome Diana...!!!

Okay, now that I'm co-moderating this particular forum, I have decided to introduce new rules.
1) Everyone who posts here has to own a Marseille deck.
2) Anyone who refers to the Fool as card no. 1 gets a tick in my little black book. (Reminder: it's a card that doesn't have a number.)
3) Anyone who refers to the Journey as the "Fool's" journey, gets half a tick in my little black book. (Reminder: It's the Bateleur's (or so-called Magician's) Journey).
4) People who do reversals are only allowed to post every second day.
5) Anyone who has never visited the Historical and Iconographical forum is only allowed to post every fifth day.
6) And anyone who doesn't send me a Tarot deck as a Christmas gift will be frowned upon forever.
I think that's pretty clear. Can't say I didn't warn you, okay?
:D :D :D

What's a Marseilles deck???
(Alissa runs away, ducking the entire time, mumbling, "Kidding, only kidding... I swear I was kidding....)

1. I'm thinking of creating a tarot deck based upon the Marseille deck, is that ok?
2. But every Fool knows he's nothing.
3. Every trickster know who s/he is. :joke:
4. Works for me. ;)
5. Many people find hysteria helpful. :joke:
6. Sacrifices must be made!
*glances around* Where'd everybody go?

This is the first time I am attempting the quote feature. Shall see if I am using it correctly.

This shall be a most interesting relationship :D I plan to learn from ye. Ye may have posted this thread tongue-in-cheek, but I am addressing all points :)
1. I think I have at least 2 Marseille decks, but I have not yet been moved to actively use them. I look at them & note their differences from each other which are not so obvious to me, being generally clueless of its tradition. I hope to eventually remedy this for a working understanding.
2. I see The Fool as "0" & any academic associations aside, I tend to see it at the beginning & at the end.
3. I think 'tis both. (I prefer ripe tomatoes, & can catch pretty well to make sauce.)
4. Whilst I do not think reversals are necessary for me, nor do I shuffle to get them, they occur on rare occasions during personal readings & occasionally in readings for others.
5. Visit the Historical & Iconographical forum on occasion as time permits. Very interesting discussions (though some are beyond my comprehension).
6. What decks do ye have already?

Congratulations Diana!
I think all of your rules (or guidelines) are wonderful.
Now for those of you who do not currently own a Marseilles deck,,, I’m sure I may be of assistance.
Check out my ‘New Project”...

Jeannette Roth or myself (the new ‘other half’ of Tarot Garden) will be able to provide you with any of your cartomantic needs.

Please accept my humble apologies.
This thread is about Diana, a person who I personally love, and have a deep admiration for. During the 2.5 years I have known her, I have bowed to her wisdom and kindness. We have learned a lot together. I look forward to our continued friendship.
This is not about me.
Congratulations Diana.
I love you...

Umbrae: this thread is not about me. It's about Aeclectic.
And you were moderator of this board for so long, that it seems very very strange to have stepped into your shoes. It will take me some time to get used to them.
They are nice shoes. A little big for me, but they fit with my nose.
I love you too.

Oh Great Lioness, Diana, in your honor, I shall promote my Camoin deck, (bought in Paris, is it still a "Marseilles" deck?) from the bottom of my neatly stacked boxes of cards to...er...to...the middle. })
And Diana... for Goodness sake, give him back his nose!!!!
