What deck did you vote for on the Top Ten decks of the year and why?
Please, I feel the love here, no fighting, lol.
Of course this is an unofficial survey.
I would start by telling, but I do not want anyone to think I am campaigning.

I haven't voted yet, and that is because I'm indecisive at the moment. I'm torned between The Gothic Tarot (Vargo), Madame Eudora's Fortune Cards and Good Witch Bad Witch.

This is a great thread. :D
Jmd - I suspect you may be correct in your sentiments and if I weren't committed elsewhere....
My enthusiasm for this vote remains with the Tarot of Prague.
I'm proud of my campaign, proud of Baba-prague and proud of what individual members of this community can achieve by working together. :D
Vote for Tarot of Prague! ;)

I love everything about it. The book, the box, the cards, the feel of the cards, and the bag that Lunalafey made for me to keep them in!!!

OK, 10 bucks to whomever can guess what deck jmd voted for!
I voted for Tarot of Prague. I may have voted for the Golden tarot as Lee did for this deck did appeal to me much more than Prague did, but I haven't held it in my hands yet, so I didn't consider it.
The Tarot of Prague got my vote because of all the decks I own, this clicked with me profoundly. Ancestral Path deck did as well and is just as, if not more beautiful than the Tarot of Prague. So why did I vote for Prague and not Ancestral Path? The book that comes with the Prague deck is better, the packaging is better, the cost was better even with the shipping and handling. All in all, Prague got the vote because it has more bang for the buck. It wasn't an easy decision though. Ancestral Path is well deserving too.

I voted for Sacred Rose Tarot because it gives me right on readings and of course, the artwork.

I voted for the Dolphin-Daze Tarot. I don't even own it .. but how could I not vote for a tarot deck of dolphins!!!! .. especially since the artwork is beautiful and the artist is an aeclectic member too :o)

I voted for the Hermetic, although I know it won't be anywhere near the top 10. I love this deck and was so excited to get it. I don't have any decks that just came out this year, so I couldn't vote on that aspect. I know everyone likes the Prague, but it doesn't do much for me.

OK Ok I just voted... for The Gothic Tarot by Vargo. I wanted to vote for a recent deck, because otherwise I would have voted for The Enchanted Tarot (Zerner-Farber), but this deck is more than ten years old. The Gothic Tarot though is fairly recent, and frankly astonishing. My witches in Good Witch Bad Witch are probably hurt, but they had no chance to be in the top 10 anyway, why not votting for a winner?

I haven't voted yet but will be after this.
And the deck will be the Morgan Greer. Out of all my decks this is the one that I connected with straight away, its been out a long time but doesn't seem that popular - I think its a very underated deck, maybe it looks a little dated but it reads well, all the symbolism you could ever wish for in a deck is there, its the perfect size, the artwork is lovely. It is my ideal deck. :)
Edited to say:-
Just voted :D

So, do we get to see the list of say, the top 20 or top 30?
I just went through the past few years Top Ten Lists and it is essentially a rearrangement of the same decks.....

Kris Hadar's Véritable Tarot de Marseille.
I nearly voted for the Tarocchi di Vetro (Crystal Tarot) - just to be original (and it's a really nice deck! :) ). But then I heard this voice booming from the heavens saying "Diana! Diana! Why hast thou forsaken me?" And I trembled because I realised that the Marseille Tarot God watches over me constantly and I cannot get away from his watchful eyes.
So I did my duty as I was expected to. (And also because it's one of the best decks in my collection (along with some other Marseilles decks! :D .)

skytwig comments that the past few years are basically re-arrangements of each other. It does seem that way.
What s quite interesting is the relative consistency of people's favourite decks given the vastly larger number of people on Aeclectic. The first year had less than 200, if I recall, whereas there are now over 3000.
Note to Mimers: Lucky no-one's taking you up on that offer, or you could be out of pocket by over $30000, given the size of the community :)

I should do a search, but i'm being lazy at the moment..... I would like to see a poll where we could vote several ways.....
The deck to which we are most faithful. (To honor Diana's 'guardian god' of Marseilles....... we know how insistent such guardian beings can be..........)
The Deck to which we are currently attracted.....
The deck we use most ......
The deck we think least worthy of being dubbed Tarot.....
I would love to see reasons and links to our choices so we can each see the cards as we read each other's posts....... hmmmm...... maybe i can come up with something.....

Well Skytwig, you better get started making those threads!
Tauni, I love that deck, but did not think anyone would vote for it!
Well, perhaps this could be the unofficial TOP 20 DECKS! I do not mind keeping count. But I do hope everyone votes, it would be more accurate.

Well, I have to admit my favourite is the Robin Wood (yes, the fluffy bunny, the one with barbie and ken)... I really love this deck.
Second place goes to Bosch (the extreme)... I totally connect with it, don't know why.

This was a hard choice for me. I have been fortuante enough to buy and to connect with several very unique decks in the last couple of years: Jolanda's Swedish Witch, The Fey, Tarot de Paris, Fradella Adventure, Buckland Romani, Tarot of Prague, Margarete Petersen, Phantasmagoric Theater, Rohrig, Kazanlar, Greenwood, and Folchi's Mitologico. An embarassment of riches, to be sure, and that's not even mentioning my old favorite the Templar. But the "sash and roses" (ie: my vote), as one member once put it, went to the Margarete Petersen. It seems to bypass all logic and go straight to my subconcious where it stimulates vivid thoughts and associations. There is no other deck like it for me, though the Templar comes close:-)

I voted for my Robin Wood too. My Morgan Greer was a very close second. It was a hard decision. I love them both.

I was wondering why no one had said Margarete Petersen yet! That one gets my vote, too. Amazing, original, many-faceted, multi-layered piece of workmanship. Deserves to be included among the Big Classics, in my opinion.

It was so difficult to decide. I nearly voted for the Vargo Gothic, then nearly for the Vampire, then... I chose the Vertigo. It's been such a constant deck for me; readings that I just can't do with other decks simply flow with the Vertigo, difficult issues are shown so fundamentally, and it's honest. I don't read with it as often as with some others, but it's always the one I come back to.
Go Vertigo!

Aww, no one has said they voted for my deck! Alas, I love it at any rate. :) I voted for Hanson-Roberts. I've had the deck for about 2 years, but hadn't used it much. I favored my Osho Zen. I have recently picked it up lately, though, and started working with it. I really prefer it for its size because my hands are small. It's much easier for me to shuffle. The coloring of the cards is also so appealing to me, easy for me to look at for long periods of time.
I'm gonna have to get a better look at the Tarot of Prague after all the posts about it.

I love Good Witch Bad Witch!!! The witches in it are so cute! I invented though my own way of picking up the cards and reading with it, and it works fine with me. My bestfriend bought it first and I fell in love with these witches. My mother likes that when I read her with it because there aren't many negatives cards.

I really like the colors in this deck, but I think I may have a hard time reading the minors and also the keywords. Do you find this one easy to read with?

The minors are pips..Which at first I was not sure about. But my intuition kicks in..The Keywords can not be noticed. The artist blended the keywords into the bottom of the pips.. They are the same color so it just does not pop out at you.

I voted for the Shining Tribe Tarot, by Rachel Pollack. I love its primitive yet cosmic energies.
The Shining Tribe sat neglected on my shelf for almost 2 years, as I just didn't click with the images and style. Then after a vacation to Arizona and the American Southwest, I was enthralled by the petroglyphs (Native American rock art), as well as the primal topology there. When I returned, the Shining Tribe tarot reached out to and into me. It's now one of my favorite decks, and never fails to enlighten and inspire me.

Jmd that was absolutly cute!
I've only had one deck that's the Goddess Tarot, and it is an old and trusted friend. And even though I am looking for a...um...another friend, (don't tell the goddess deck!) I voted for her instead!
