As some of you may know already, I have only been back at Tarot for a little over 3 years now. I have only been on Aeclectic Tarot for a month. I AM AMAZED at how my reading abilities have increased, just since 1 month ago. Lately I have been right on with my readings and I can sense so many things that may have taken me time to come to; or that I may not have ever seen before. THE LIGHTS ARE ON!! I really believe this group has enhanced my abilities. It is a powerful thing to have access to so many intuitive people. Thanks for all the wisdom, kindness, and sharing. It is exciting to think of what's to come!
Blessings!

Indigo Rose,
I've been here for 2 weeks and during that time I started "revising" Tarot again, and went back to reading for others. I've regained this confidence and just like you, I see much more in my cards. I believe it's because of this place and wonderful people.
Love to ALL,
Agathe

Same with me. I've been doing tarot for ten years, here and there, but frankly, since I've been here (three months?), I'm much better at it. I'm more capable to remember my cards (I have a lousy memory and I always needed my book before) and I grasp better the cards's meanings, like the majors and the court cards, when I had issues with them before; I still do, but not as much as before. I'm so glad I found this place with all you people, YOU ARE SO GREAT! Thanks!;)

Hi everyone,
Since joining Aeclectic a couple of months ago, I have also learnt so much and had the privilege of becoming acquainted with so many amazing people. I love it here. If someone were to ask me what my ideal evening is, this is it!! I have gone from reading just for myself and my family to joining Lark and her seekers on the exchange. I have found myself giving advice on occasion and have had to pinch myself because there was a time when I would never have considered myself the slightest bit qualified to do so!!
I have been totally amazed when I've said something or done a reading just to find out that I do know a little of what I am talking about!! AND I have only been doing this for a year! There is so much to learn and do and I have the rest of my life to devote to this. MY understanding can only get better. Add to this the most amazing people. I feel like I have another family. Its GREAT.
:D :D :D

Indigo Rose,
I've begun to wonder whether learning Tarot isn't a bit like learning a language. When you learn a language, if you don't speak it with others it never really sinks in. Here you can converse in that language (Tarot) with many others, and develop a kind of fluency.
When I studied language in school, and found myself dreaming in the language I was studying, I took it as a sign of an important breakthrough in my learning process.
I've found the same thing since participating in Aeclectic over the past few months, that my readings are clearer, that I have more confidence, that I'm more thoroughly immersed in the entire subject. I've even recently experienced elements of Tarot in my dreams.

What wonderful thoughts have been expressed in this thread! I agree, the Aeclectic community is tremendously empowering and helpful. Nevada34, I love your comparison of tarot and language -- that seems to me a striking and highly accurate way of looking at it.

LOVE that thought! It makes perfect sense.

Nevada34, I've heard that too, about dreaming in other languages; and I think it's a brilliant observation.
By communally discussing the same subject matter, although diverse, it does allow for a repetition which builds ... fluency~!
The best thing about Aeclectic are it's people; both the old friends, and the exciting new ones who keep showing up to join the party.

I've been learning the Tarot for 10 years, and I've been a member of Aeclectic for 3 years of that.
I've learned much more in those three years than in the other 7 put together! :D
I think that having a group of people to talk with helps immensely: you can get advice and feedback on your readings, get opinions on any thoughts you've had, and most importantly you are exposed to a variety of different views of Tarot and ways of working with it. Variety is the spice of life, and seeing it every day on Aeclectic has really helped me appreicate the huge world of Tarot that is out there.
Before I joined Aeclectic, I was just reading books and doing readings. I had never thought of things like a Tarot journal, entering cards, using the Tarot as a spiritual tool. In fact, fo me it was just something to tell the future with. But now it is so much more.
In conclusion: I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! :*:*:*

I too feel the same, I struggled with it for close to 8 years and began to dispair at ever being good at reading cards... But since I took the plunge and joined here.. I feel so much more confident and intuitive than I ever had. I am learning to trust my instincts more now.
