Hello everyone,
I am really sorry if this subject has been posted as a thread before but it is something that I am really curious about and I would really like to know other people's opinions on this.
Do you thing it is possible for you to have a tarot reading done online? That by selecting 'Virtual' cards you are able to get a true answer?
I would be delighted to hear your opinions!

Hi, Siwan,
this is a question that I have asked myself too, and if there exists some kind of "Tarot Program" one could install on the computer to do one's own readings by computer.
But personally, I have given up the idea because the "ritual" of shuffling the deck and choosing my cards using the feeling of my hands would fall flat, and this is wat makes Tarot so attractive and somewhat "romantic", isn't it? :joke:
So I'll go for the good old method, more work involved, but so much more personal!
Light and love

My first instinctual reply would be...No. Most of those sites also have fine print underneath that such readings are for entertainment purposes only...However, after saying this, you can keep in mind that the readings are rather generic and you may benefit from some self-reflection of the reading...most readings can and may apply to some aspect of our selves and lives and can be used for self-improvement in a generalized way. However, to get a indepth reading, more specialized reading, I believe you have to have a real person handling the cards...of course, this is only my opinion.

Hi Siwan
My feelings are that they are fun to play with but I don't take the readings seriously. I prefer the old fashion way too.

I think I feel the same as everyone else here. I used programs like tarot.com often to practice readings, but when it comes down to it, I like to have the cards right in front of me.

Wow!
Thank you so much for all your replies!
I am quite new to the tarot and I did feel that having an online reading seems kind of like defeating the whole purpose of reading the tarot? I hope I'm making sense! What I mean is that how can something (like a computer) be able to accuratly read your cards? There is no person there and the cards are only virtual?
However saying that, if our sub-concsious is able to somehow pick the right cards the old fashioned way, perhaps our sub conscious works on a similar level when picking 'virtual' cards?

Hi Siwan,
I also am not keen on tarot programmes or on cards that are picked onscreen. I like to be able to connect with the cards and feel that if I don't get to shuffle or even actually see them I don't get focused. It seems a very impersonal way of doing a tarot reading, it might work well for some people but for me it doesn't.

Being the skeptical, suspicious type that I am, when I visit Tarot.com I feel that the questions I submit into the software are sorted into "key words" to determine which cards will be drawn. There is no option of a "cold reading" without a submitted question, so I think that the readings I have received there, which have always been pertinent to the question I asked, have less to do with synchronicity and more to do with the key words submitted in the question.

Sometimes those online readings surprise me, but they're not really my thing at all. I can do it for myself. Maybe you're right, Le_Corsair. It's a conspiracy!

I find too, that not only is it entertaining but is an excellant way to see if you like the cards before buying :D
