sychronicity

I love the way the universe sends messages when we need them. I was sitting here, on the second floor at the other end of my house from the kitchen, reading through topics.

I'd been here at least 30 minutes when I clicked into the thread on time and whether/how to estimate time in a reading. The word "timing" kept catching my attention.

Suddenly I smelled the brownies in my oven and realized I'd totally forgotten them. I raced downstairs and pulled them out--they were only about 5 minutes past the timer's ring (which I was too far away to hear).

The universe succeeded, thankfully, in signaling me in an alternate way! These are for a Christmas party tomorrow and I'm glad not to have burned them!

And that brings me to a question--what card signals "pay attention to the timing"--any ideas?

This is just an idea.

The Wheel and the Knights.

I think that the energy is moving & nothing we can do until we know what it is. BUT when we have these cards we can become aware!

Synchronicity, I love it, it never bores me and always excites me! :D

Good question, Imagemaker.....I suppose it depends on the situation......health, love, moving, in these situations and others it is my intuition that helps me pay attention to the timing.

A ghastly combo like say: Devil, Three of Swords, Nine of Swords and Five of Swords would jolt me into paying attention to what is going on and timing!!!

I don't think there is a single card that I could choose for every situation  Ten of Wands sometimes lets me know, nearly there.

I am sure you will get some great responses with this question :D

I use the RWS, by the way ;) XTAX

I like that signal. Good one!

In any reading, I go by what catches my eye on the card--like the light shining out for the Hermit's lantern might signal--"it's close, just look."

I'll sit with my cards and see what strikes me about time in any of them. More later . . .

I'd go with the Nine of Wands :)

An explanation would be wonderful, Dead Star :)

I had posted the question--what card/s might convey the message "pay attention to the timing". It could be an alert related to an action you plan or a decision that needs to be made.

I went through my Robin Wood deck and these seemed relevant:

2 of pentacles--because it takes accurate timing to walk the tightrope and juggle at the same time. I saw this card as the strongest message about a person's need to accurately judge timing of an action.

7 of pentacles--to me this card has always meant either patience, waiting for the garden to grow, or satisfaction at how the garden has grown. Either way, you can't rush the timing of a growing plant, so this card might mean "be aware it will take awhile".

5 of wands--because of my experience with martial arts, this card has always seemed like a "demonstration kata"--a performed mutual exercise in which everyone must be in the right place at the right time--doing the correct blocks and moves of the staves. So this card could mean that timing is critical in a decision with others.

And for the Major Arcana: Temperance, because of the juggling--but at a deeper "major" level--"be aware of the timing of your actions if you want success"

Other decks would have completely different "timing awareness" cards with different pictures. That's why I think it's so important to work with just one or two decks at first, to develop a language of symbolism that connects to your life experiences. Then the cards can signal you in ways that YOU understand.

Please, give me your reactions and opinions!

8 of wands and the wheel.

Angeles Arien's book talks about minors and their numbers meaning 3 days/months/years.
Also, some cards (courts) hav astrological correspondences that could relate to the time of year (if you get pisces, it's Feb. 23 to March 19, for example).

David Hulse wrote a very comprehensive article on courts avail. on llewellyn .com. I think it goes into some of this.
