Whaaaaat? Why would you want to go to another one? Just cause I missed a month or two... or how long has it been?

There's some Yahoo groups, but most are for beginners or intermediates. The ComparativeTarot group generally focuses on the historical side (they rarely do reading requests on the list). But this site is the best.

The CompTarot list has quite a bit of card of the month studies. (But here on AT there are more.) The Tarot-L list (also on yahoo groups) is more historically-oriented than CompTarot.
I like that here on AT there is the forum concept, rather than individual posts that you have do click on. This encourages longer threads, and allows more effortless revival of earlier threads.

There are a number of other Tarot Forums around... but as you said 'great' in your first post, I personally do not think the others are thus far 'great', though good, or even very good, many are.
I personally do not consider CompTarot, L-Tarot, Tarot-L and the others as Tarot Forums, but as e.lists. The two are a little different in the way they operate, and those three listed are excellent, with, it should be mentioned, quite a number of overlapping or shared membership with Aeclectic.
In the end, it is what suits more your style of communicating and how you sense yourself within the community. As with any community - and larger ones even more so - it may take a little while to feel fully part of it...
...Aeclectic is, in my opinion, not only great for its expertise and its community, but also for the way in which it is organised and operates.

There are other forums out there, many of which I would have been glad to join before I found Aeclectic. Solandia is unique because, not only does her grasp of the technology seem to be close to perfect, I believe that her understanding of the human mind and psyche are unique. While the former is important, a site like Aeclectic could not exist with the latter.
I wish I knew Solandia personally. She must be a fascinating person.

i have to agree with you guys...this website is the best tarot forum i've ever come across, and i've looked at several. i've not looked at them since i found Aeclectic, and i feel satisfied whenever i visit this site with my questions, because i usually would find what i need to know about what i would need to do with my cards, etc...

Sorry this is a sort of useless post, just thought I'd add that I also think this site is the best :) I looked all over the internet for ages before finding this place, and I agree with draconiius. This place is great, and the discussions are thorough and active. I almost feel like I'm talking with the members face to face! Again sorry I can't be of much use, I just happen to be rather loyal to this site.

Personally...I don't know. One day I was searching for a Tarot forum and I was lucky to find Aeclectic right away :D. I didn't have the need to look more.
Blessings,
Agathe
