i'm not sure how many other high schoolers are lurking around the depths of aeclectic, but the SAT tests were held this morning (at the crack-of-dawn, mind you!)
i was kind of nervous for some reason, so i figured i might as well bring along my faithful animal lords deck. besides, perhaps i could do one of those memorable readings for someone-- not everyone can say they did a reading at 8 AM before the SATs!
anyway, people were filling in the room, so i just did a quick 1 card draw. i got the sun-- "be optimistic, radiate genius waves" is what i gathered from it.
about an hour later i made it to the analogy section (eek!), and out of no where, i thought back about that sun card, wondering when i'd really need or feel its energy. i am not lying-- a possible answer for the very next question was "enthusiastic : sunny"
i just knew it was that sun card sending some humor vibes. my animal lords deck has always had some spunk :).
anyone else have a deck with a sense of humor?

hi snuffy!
saw your post and had to smile. my favorite deck, "tarot of the old path," can be downright cheeky sometimes! i like that they're like that though...they feel like an old friend who tells it like it is.
hope all's well weather-wise in pittsburgh. it's awfully icy down here in philly!
cheers,
emma

I've found that when I ask a teasing question, I get a lighthearted answer. Like the day I asked my Robin Wood deck what I was going to have for lunch (an attempt to get it to do some fortunetelling for me). I drew the 5 of pentacles card.
I sat there trying to figure out what was lunch-related about it, when I realized that the red and yellow pentacles in the church window looked like pizzas.
By lunchtime, I'd forgotten about that "prediction" and was eating my potato chips with ketchup when I suddenly realized they were yellow circles with red on them! So funny!

I am staring at the "King of Swords" which I picked from the Tarot of the Old path, for the card of the day ...or is staring at me?
As I have no clue who this person may be, or what he can bring into my day, I can only wait, and see what will manifest.
But funny, that whenever I got a swords court card, I used to think of my ex who was an aquarius and can stand as a good example of this suit of cards, particularly the king.

I got a rueful fish gazing at the ridiculously babyish Page of Cups from the Universal Tarot by DiAngeles. It's impossible to take the fish or the Page too seriously, part of the charm is its goofyness.
Some lightheartedness sometimes emerges in the Tarot of Secrets if I'm in a certain mood, but mostly I see the lighter side with the Universal. These days I can use the lighter side.
Thanks for the insight into your own decks, makes me feel more cheerful.

Maybe it's just because I have a close relationship with it, but I do think Tarot of Prague sometimes has a wickedly good sense of humour.
The best recent example is when I did a reading to find out where my lost cat was (back in December). It said she had fallen off our roof, was fine, was in the park our flat backs on to, that if we wanted her back we had to be very persistent about calling her - lots of good information and advice that seems to have been true (we called for days - she reappeared :-) )
But the humorous part of the reading was what it said she would learn from the experience - either "Balance" or, hopefully "Balance and Prudence". I did find that very funny - and I hope she has indeed learnt both!

The Halloween deck DEFINATELY has a sense of humour, and it think it only appeals to those who have a strange fasination with things that go bump in the night. For me its vampires mwhahaha.
I love my Halloween deck, and when i do readings for people who pick that deck, i think ohh eh up, i can have a giggle here! If they pick my universal RW or Witches tarot - i have to keep to my serious readers tone, else i get a kick in the arse most of the time.
Funn how different decks appeal to different people :P

Had to laugh my daughter had a similar experience with her Elementals Deck
she did a single card draw on the morning of her birthday she drew "Rebirth"
and tonight whilst thinking about a Valentines Day tradition they have at her school where roses can be purchased anonymously and delivered to the student in question she drew "Ocean" (7 water) which depicts a man holding a rose in one hand and coins in the other
She's getting quite proficient at this!
