i've always wondered why only western astrology has been linked to the tarot and not eastern astrology. does anyone know if the two were ever linked?
thanks in advance

I wish I had something to add for you, jog, but I think most of us here may be eastern astrologically challenged (I know I am), and unable to answer the question you pose.
You may have garnered more response if this thread had been in the Subscribers' section on Astrology. It went unmoved since you were a non-subscriber, and the thread would be hidden to you if moved to that forum.
However, if you should subscribe, please do pose the question there. It may elicit more responses.

eastern astrology.... are you referring to the twelve different animals thingy right?
I do know something about it since I'm chinese and all.. but not to a great extend. Within my limited scope of knowledge, tarot has not been linked with eastern astrology.
In the East, fortune telling is more associated with what we call.. uh.. my translation may be off but the best I can come up with is the "eight characters of one's life", which includes the year you were born, the time, and.... I cannot remember. Woops. And as far as I know, this fortune telling is not something that can picked up as easily as tarot.
Just to stress once more, any information from me is to be taken with a pinch of salt. However, I believe I am going for such a fortune telling session with my mother soon. I would try to ask the "master" if he knows anything about tarot...
