leaving the reading

Have you had anyone leave the table in the middle of a reading OR has someone been mad because of the reading you gave?

I have had one lady start to cry but she was fine. Some people will look at me in a daze & ask me how I Know the things I tell them & I just tell them it's self discipline of study!

Any more stories to share?

I almost left a reading when the reader said something that made me want to burst into tears. Well actually, I wanted to sweep the cards of the table and scream "no! never!" and run out sobbing, soap opera style :P

but looking back, I think I felt like walking away because of the way she answered my question.. she said "Oh no. Definitely. No." it's like she's leaving no space for discussion, for hope, for possibility, for salvation. I don't think it was right of her... was it? *ponders*

But I do know of a friend who ran out during reading - literally. We were waiting for him outside and BANG he just ran. He never told us why though...

PS: Ros, it is ok to cry in front of a reader? I always have the urge to cry when someone reads tarot for me but I hold my tears back, afraid I'll freak out the reader and he/she would feel hard pressed to soften/change their interpretations.

Crying helps you to releases & cleanses your soul. If you cry at a reading any reader should be understanding. If you understand the true nature of reading the cards, any reader should understand why you cry.
Just my idea.

Last year sometime.. I had a lady cry in the middle of a reading also. When I started the reading, she was extremely quiet, then all of a sudden it came.

I got tissues and what not for her, then asked if she wanted me to stop, that I would understand. She insisted that I continue. I felt really bad for a while afterwards. Since then she has called me or stopped by for a few other readings.

I can honestly say that I was understanding with her and about the situation.. but .. a little freaked out at the same time when she began to cry. She was one of the first 'in person' readings I had. I almost didn't want to do another one.

How did you feel when the lady you were reading for cried, ros?

When my lady started crying & looked and thought "what the heck is she doing" then " OMG what did I say" I was explaining to the lady with her reading that she was very storng like a leader. She had many 1 numbers with her birth date also.

"You need to ask for help once in a while" this is what I said & her response was "you're exactly right, I am strong & everyone comes to me & I can't ask anyone because I can't" ....

She was crying because the pressure of being always the strong one was draining her energy.
Reading for people also I feel is telling them a truth about there life. I was happy to tell her to ask for help once in a while. We all give energy when we do a job of service. Give Give Give & we forget to take back or receive for ourselves.
Don't forget about you. You cannot help anyone if your not looking after you.
People just want someone to talk to & if we are doing the reading we have to have compassion because the client has NO controll over what we will tell them! This is how we learn also about the different personalities there are also.We learn at a reading also.
Just some of my ideas.

The last card in a reading once was Justice (R)

This one lady was having problems & I did her reading & when I turned the last card she came across the table & pounded the card & yelled "yes, Justice he's going to pay" She was happy. I didn't say anything about the card & that was the end of the reading. I was in shock that she came across the table.

I also like when people tell you what the cards mean when they haven't seen the cards before. lol You can learn from them but when you're trying to do the reading it's hard when they're interfering.

OR find out JUST how "he's going to pay"....Women have a wonderful gift to make "he's" pay for past mistakes..and they aren't always violent or immediately noticable..lol

From someone who Knows-(if you get chance ask my hubby why and when I stopped fold and puting his cloths away...)

When I was reading more, I would just get the "FISH"..the person sitting across from you with their mouth wide open..

Good readings always evoke emotion..like they say it's clensing and once the emotions run their corse enlightenment hits

Blessings

This women was mad at her husband because the daughter was living with him & everything was his fault. I told her that a 15 year old would have a quarter to call her from school or the movies if she wanted. She is mad at her husband but I bet her daughter loves all the attention & she's running the parents. Her daughter has not contacted her yet so I guess that's what the (R) meant but she knows he will pay!!! The daughter had just lived with the father a couple of weeks.
Did I tell you I THINK the lady has control problems. But that's just my idea. LOL

LOL u crack me up Ros :)

just thought I'll share a story I heard from my friend, since it applies to the thread... Let's call her Candy. (really, I call her that sometimes.)

Candy had a reading with this guy. He's got a question regarding a girl he's interested in and The Lovers came up. Before Candy could say anything, he was like YAYYYYYYYY and started babblering about how he and the girl would be together forever more. Candy tactfully tried to tell him that it wasn't exactly that, but he got MAD. He called her "evil" for trying to twist his fate and stormed out, declaring that "fate would prevail against all evil doers!"

And yeah, he took The Lovers card along with him when he left, so Candy's stuck with an incomplete R-W. She's threatening to sue. :D

ooooh yes, they deserve each other. He'll probably tell him fate will make her husband pay, she'll be happy, and they'll live happily "together forever more" and not be bothered by 'evil doers" like us. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHA :D :D :D :D :D

Control? CONTROL? Oooh, wherever did you get that idea from, it sounds exactly right *naughty grins*

I've had quite a few people get emotional during readings, I consider it a sign that I'm doing something right!

However my most experience while reading came in December when I was reading at a large party. Things had been going quite well most of the night, I was quite happy with the response I was getting even though they were only five minute readings. Then quite suddenly some woman launched herself at me, proclaiming me Satan incarnate and declaring that I was the reason this world was in the horrid state that it is and that I was going directly to hell. I grinned, looked at her and said, "Ma'am, if I'm Satan incarnate, I own hell so of course I'm going there." She was hauled off by security. I probably didn't handle it as well as I should of, my comment probably made matters worse, but I kept my calm and didn't fight back, which was difficult considering she got a good handful of hair! And I wasn't even reading for the woman!

Thanks for the story! I love telling them. This is good for us to learn different personality types!
Thanks for sharing!

These stories are great! I love them.

I've never had anybody cry during a reading, but I think that's a sign your reading is very accurate. It's also a sign that your words are not just falling on "dead ears". They're acutally taking your words into their core center and begining to process them. It sounds very healing to me.

velvetmirage,
What a great story! I'm going to email it to my friend. She lets me practice readings on her, but what's funny is that many people in her family hold the same opinion that your crazy women did. Her twin sister thinks tarot is like "satan in a box". LOL ;)

Vynara  17 Jan 2004
satan in a box? *giggles* now that's something I've never heard of. :D
