MoQ, Qabbal, Qabbalah

Recently I happened to find something very interesting about the root of Qabbalah ("in the history of secret sects in Iran", Alfonso Nellino is the writer) that you might not be aware of.

I was reading something about a very old (4 or 5 thousands years old or perhaps more) Persian group called MoQan. These people were alchemists, knower of the old knowledge. Mathematicians, astrologists and etc… MoQan used to call themselves “ Mages” which is a word still used in Farsi language and it means “Magi”. In Western language this is probably “Magician”. This special group of professionals was before Zarathustra and after him joints him. They are the same people that appeared before Jesus at the time of his birth (“The gift of magi” in the Bible). In the religion of Zarathust the infinity sign is symbolic of God’s wisdom, which is also shown with number 1. The oldest religious sect in Iran is called, “Qabbal” and, listen to this, they believed that the aim of their tradition was to create a connection between major world and minor world, and the awareness against evilness of self; reaching a state of unity between the dualities of life.

I believe the major world is the major arcane and the minor world is the minor arcane. How about the similarities between the Persian world “Mag” and English world “Magician”, and also the relation between the infinity sign and its symbolic connection to number 1 and its meaning in Zarathustrian religion. Look at the Magician card; you can see both, the infinity sign and its number, which is 1. All these cannot be coincidences.

I think I have found something very important here! I think Qabbalah is a word that comes from Persian world “Qabbal”, which means “Acceptance”. This is probably the tip of the iceberg and there is much more in here than I have seen so far.

Oh mehrdad! What a joy to see you posting again, my friend. (((((((mehrdad)))))))

You always come up with such wonderful stories to tell us. I don't quite know what to add to your post, except that it is just so magical and so "right" when so many things join together and become one. And to get a glimpse of the unity of things and of mankind and of our beliefs and our common stories is quite awesome.

The infinity symbol is God's wisdom? That adds a whole new/old dimension to the Magician card.

I think too that you have stumbled onto something quite important and I hope you come back to share your discoveries with us - discoveries that we are unable to make due to the language and cultural barrier. Your country is so rich with history - and within this history are many clues to the mystery of mankind. You are indeed fortunate to partake of such a great and ancient culture.
