My decks got new bags!

I only have two thoth decks at the moment (still waiting for the Golden Tarot...), one large one and one small one. The large one used to be in its' nearly broken down cardboard box and the small one was wrapped in red silk scarf in a carved wooden box.
Well, for a long time I've longed for something special for my decks and today I found something!! The large deck is now wrapped in a purple, large scarf (I was hoping to use it as a spread cloth but since the fabric is somewhat fragile I decided to use it only occasionally) and inside a green chinese dragon silk brocade drawstring bag (what a long definition!). :D
The small deck I use the most I still wrap in the red scarf (it is perfect as a spread cloth unless I do very large spreads) and now it has a red chinese silk brocade drawstring bag with golden dragons embroidered in it, I simply love it!! :*
I also found two small purses also made of chinese emroidered silk with zippers on them and in the red one I keep the crystals I don't use so often and the blue one has my clear quartz and my chevron amethyst and is inside the red bag. Since the decks didn't fit inside the wooden box in their new 'costumes' I simply use it as a storage for crystals and gemstones.
Oh joy!! :) I simply can't help myself carrying that red bag everywhere I go....

I know how good it feels when you finally find just that right bag or box for your deck.
Yours sound beautiful!
I make my tarot bags and I can spend hours in the fabric store trying to match the right fabric to the right beads.
I like the colors of the fabric to reflect the colors of the deck.
I ordered the Golden tarot too.
I wonder what we'll be lead to put them in?

I've found some excellent bags on eBay, homemade, and I am now thinking that for my next deck, I will have a stab at making a tarot bag for it myself. I have found some very nice scarves at goodwill stores and yard sales in the past, too. I live by a budget! *sigh*

Dont forget to look at old men's ties at the resale shops & Goodwill Stores, they usually are pretty silky, can be taken apart & made into bags, even if they have to be pieced together somewhat. There's some nice Celtic designs on ties.

Hi Aure,
I'm so glad you found such perfect bags for your cards. :-) They sound so beautiful! I ended up purchasing mine off of eBay for my decks that didn't have boxes or their boxes fell apart.

ooo I just love new decks and new bags! I love to make my bags!
I always shop in the remanents section for material for small projects like that.
