A bunch of us had chatted about a gathering of AT’ers in August of 04. At first we had chatted about doing it in Glastonbury.
Just yesterday I was chatting with Major Tom, and here’s the latest…
August 13 – 14 – 15 2004
Crown Hotel
Framlingham England (Suffolk)
I’m sure the activities, readings, speakers will be announced.
However – your participation is necessary.
And if you want to attend…you have to let Major Tom know…either by PM or by post.

I grew up in Framlingham's sister city - Framingham, Massachusetts. I'm gonna take that as a sign and look into it.

Why can't we just all live in one big country? :D

I would love to come - I've said this before - but this is the start of the school summer hols here so most people with kids are gonna find it hard to make that. I'm in Cornwall with mine then! Couldn't be much further away from Suffolk could it?

Would love to come - it sounds like fun! However that date clashes with the Cropredy Festival and I'm booked for that.

Can the faeries that are flying from AZ make a stop in NC and pick up a fellow faery who's not so good with flight maps and directions?
If not, then I guess I won't be able to go :(
Will there be any US gatherings?

If you ever decide to organize such a thing in a cheaper country, I'm in :D. Not this time though. I'll be on holiday anyway :(

OK - This is definitely happening. We thus far have 5 speakers and I would ask any member of Aeclectic who might like to give a talk to contact me straight away.
Here's the proposed schedule which is subject to alteration:
Friday - Day of Arrival
I will meet anyone arriving by bus.
1800 - Meet up in the bar of the Crown Hotel to get acquainted.
Saturday - Main Conference Day
1000-1200 Speakers
1200-1300 Lunch
1300-1500 Speakers
1500-1700 Reading exchange in hotel lobby
Free time until dinner.
1930 Dinner
Sunday - Day of Departure
Morning spent exploring Framlingham, the castle, the church and the mere. Guided walk offered.
Afternoon can be spend in lobby and bar of hotel with reading exchange or there may be speakers.
1818 Last bus leaves Framlingham.
Tickets for the event will be £20 which includes the dinner at the hotel.
I hope to have a complete list of accomodation options by the weekend. The Crown Hotel has 4 rooms left for this weekend and they are rather expensive at £160 for 2 days but these rooms can be shared by 3 people which would make it £53.33 each for two days.
I have also gotten permission for campers to use a rather nice garden by the river for free. There would be no facilities and the garden is about 4 miles from the venue, but the hotel's manager tells me that campers could use the hotel's employee showers. The bus into Framlingham passes once an hour and again the hotel manager tells me that transport can be arranged. I'm also looking into a camp site closer to the venue.
I'm looking into the possibility of a place for caravans to park next to the castle - this is often done so I expect no difficulty.
There are about 20 places in and around Framlingham that provide bed & breakfast and I will post a list soon.
I hope to have a webpage with all the details up by early next week.
If you have any particular requirements, please get in touch soon. I can put together complete travel packages on an individual basis and again, please get in touch.

Alex and I would love to come - and I used to live down the road from Framlingham, in Woodbridge! But I can't confirm yet, those dates might be difficult.
One day, maybe we can do this in Prague - it's inexpensive outside the main holiday season, but I suppose still a long way for many people (but we do have a lot of cheap flights here from Europe). One day...

You'll also find information on public transport and local bed & breakfast accomodation.
I look forward to meeting everyone there. :smoker:

Hey,
I have provisionally booked a twin room at the Crown Hotel for 3 nights from Friday 13 (oops, hadn't noticed this before) tu Sunday (departure on Monday morn').
Anyone (1 person) out there interested in sharing? It would then cost each of us 45£ per night which is considerably less than a single room.
I would need an answer rreal soon because I told the lady I'd confirm as soon as possible!
Light and love

The details of the get-together are finalised. ;)
You can see these and book your tickets at The Framlingham Aeclectic Tarot Get-Together.
Be there or be square. :smoker:
If you haven't yet booked a place to stay - I strongly urge you to do so soon. Framlingham fills up quickly in the summer...

I've only just seen this - and wow, I wish I wasn't in my first month of a new job in August! As such, I don't know whether I can get any time off so early. I doubt it really, so I'm going to have to wait until another such event! Hopefully there will be one? Please say yes!
What a pity... and what an excellent idea!!
I hope it goes really well and that those going have a fantastic time.

I am bumping this up as the space is still free, for anyone looking for a last minute accomodation at the Framlingham AT get together.
As my plans have changed slightly, I will change the reservation terms though to only 2 nights.
Anyone interested? :D
Love
Simone
