I've never tried this but there are people here who have sites like that. I think it does work simply because every time I have a reading done by anyone here, who offers a reading, it does work, even though hey don't know me in person.
On the other hand, there is a danger that you will pay money and you'll get unprofessional reading. But I guess this danger does not exist through the internet only.

Do you mean something similar to that provided by tarot.com?
They have, however, far more than 4 spreads available. As far as I recall, the interpretations are 'fixed' - ie, you do not choose from 2 possible interpretations (or were you using the '2' to mean 'too'?).
I have checked a number of times (though not for a while) some of those spreads, as I find the interpretations quite well written (by Christine P-T, a member of Aeclectic too, by the way) - though of course it limits the reading from being properly and to-the-specific instance narrated.

Hi Estroncios,
I've tried a couple of computer generated readings and have had mixed feelings about the results. I feel much more comfortable dealing with a person on the other end of the deck.
In a group I belong to, we do readings over cyber space for real folks - someone requests a reading, it is assigned to a volunteer reader who does the reading, and sends it on to the seeker. I have only done three of these - but the feedback has been wonderful.
I would rather have a person doing my reading than a machine, if for no other reason than the mixture of our individual energies.

Well technically....when we do tarot...we are selecting random cards at the top of the deck and we read them with our intuition or what not. So I'd think the computer generated tarot readings are kind of like that. They are selecting random cards for you and giving you a general description and you have to kind of reinturpret it for yourself and your question that you asked it in the first place.

One of the things a computer generated readings does not do is to interpret, for example, the Four Coins as referring to a four-doored car (unless it was already written in the general description, which I would find strange).
The in-the-moment reading of the image may take one away from the standardised expected meaning of individual cards, in the same way that a word may suddenly acquire a shade or meaning quite inconsistent with dictionary meaning (one of the the reasons why automated translations leave much to be desired).
With readings especially, where the nuances of the card may be more important than the direct sense or 'accepted' meaning, the computer generated reading will have a flatness to it - no matter how wonderfully skillful with words the author of the phrases is - of course, others may have experienced these differently.

One of the major European traditions uses only the Majors for readings, so it is quite possible that the site you mention derives from this...
...though I'm not sure I've understood the third part of your middle paragraph.

I have used these sites quite a lot. I don't exactly use them for readings for myself, but because I am practicing I want to know as many explanations of each card in different positions as I can. I find them very useful with their different interpretations of the cards.
Here are a few of free reading sites that use all the the cards.

hope you have fun with these.

Your English is a thousandfold (or more) better than my German, Spanish or Portuguese!... heck!, I wouldn't even begin to be able to participate in a Forum in any of those (and most other, for that matter) language!!!
I wrote that in case I had missed the point :)

I went to have a reading from one of those websites, as I thought it couldn't be a true reading. I phrased my reading so keywords couldn't be picked up on and I got asked to rephrase my question.
It's just a computer programme that picks up on keywords :) XTAX
And has set answers :)

readings from some art decks from Lo Scarabeo and a few decks that I normally cannot find online. It helps reinforce my study of some art theme decks...
www.tarotadvice.com
If you look at the bottom of the reading summary, it tends to add a little more detail from the deck that you chose. Some of the different decks include the Alchemical by Robert Place or the Universal by Roberto De Angelis.
I don't know if it is helpful---it is different and they do use decks by permission of the publisher.
