good daily reading, but really bad day???

Has anyone else had a good daily reading but still had a bad day???? I did today!!!! It's kind of puzzled me?? I mean, does this mean that my day could have been worse???? Whoa! I don't want to think about that!!! I woke up in a bad mood, but when I did the daily spread I thought my day would get better.......it didn't!!! So I was just wondering what you all thought about this. Has it happened to you? Any suggestions or thoughts???

Yesterday is a prime example. The three-card reading I did was more than unusually positive. Then, mid-afternoon, my husband comes upstairs from the basement to tell me the sewer line is clogged and the basement is a floating, disgusting mess. It turned out to be a broken line just at the edge of our property. If it's on our property, we'll have to pay to repair it. If it's on city property, they get to take care of it. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Hi Red Emma! Sorry to hear about your flooding problem...I know from experience how much THAT sucks!!! Just curious: even though the cards you drew were positive in meaning, did you happen to notice, in hindsight, if there was any symbolic connection between the cards and the events of the day? For example, were there any Cups (water) in your reading, or did any of the cards depict any bodies of water??? Would you mind sharing with us which cards were drawn, and from which deck? It would be interesting to see if there were any "hidden" messages beneath the more obvious, positive ones. Thanks, and good luck with getting things back in order! :) Luna

There is one time that this happened to me that REALLY stood out. I drew the 9 of Cups - wish card.. I was all set for a good day... It rained.. I had to go help with a presenation at the other end of campus (I work for a college)... I had to drag boxes of supplies by myself, in the rain.. hurt myself lugging them up steps... had to go to a whole separate building for the key.. and then return it.. got soaked, etc.... It just turned out to be an all around AWFUL day and I felt the cards had really toyed with me.. I was actually mad at them.. !

When something like that happens, I often somehow feel the cards are not predicting something, but more trying to cheer me up, or give me a little gift..... It's like they're trying to say: 'Here's something nice to think of!' , something you might keep in the back of your mind when you're having a rough day. Then again, I don't really look at the tarot as a predictive instrument anyway. I tend to look at it more as a way of becoming aware of things within myself.

Hi, Faunabay! You bring up a really interesting issue, one that I have wondered about, too -- along with its opposite (having a really good day when the reading appears grim). More and more, I think of both situations in terms of lessons to be learned, rather than the precipitating events; the cards seem to present opportunities for gain or growth on levels we might not suspect.

Well in hindsight I think they were trying to tell me to focus more on my work.....which I didn't do because everything kept going wrong and I ended up rescheduling work stuff!! Maybe I would have had a better day if I'd done that??? (shrug) Anyway, at the end of the day a half of a bottle of Merlot and a couple of cream filled donuts helped immensely!!! **ROFL**
