Help with time telling

Uncle Richie  25 Feb 2004
Hello you happy people

This may seem rather redundant but I'll ask anyway. In refence to finding out when an event could or will happen. For example, lets say I want to know when I will meet the love of my life or when my business investments will pay off. I read in Nancy Garen's book "Tarot made easy", that the Major Ancana indicates that the event will happen quite soon. Court cards predict the months, and the Minor Arcana cards denote days or weeks. Now this to me seems a bit vague. Maybe I'm not getting this as quickly as I should or I'm just a hopeless cause. I also know that the meanings of the tarot are not written in stone but more clarity is always helpful. Like always, HELP ME OUT GUYS !!!!!!

Blessings

My two cents. I hate to "rain on your parade" (do you know that phrase?) but an event has SO many forces moving it around (in time)--because of people's free will affecting it--that I've given up on estimating or even asking. I've found that the closer an event approaches, the more definite its timing is. More fuzzy premonitions take undetermined weeks or months (for me).

I've found that the most gifted, experienced psychics can only say "it's coming." Last year, a reader who'd I found to be extremely accurate told me of 6 events that were to come (concerning people close to me--father, daughter, soul mate). 4 of the 6 happened within a year, 2 are yet to occur.

Events that he was most definite about happened within 3 months, one later. So now I don't know if the 2 that are left will be in 2 years or more, or maybe never, now that people's paths have moved over new ground.

The impatience to know when a premonition will happen is one I've struggled with. I work to let go of that expectation as often and as diligently as I can, otherwise only sheer mania results! (For me, anyway.)

I'd love it if someone out there could give both of us specific answers on this!

I know that some folks are pretty comfortable with "time telling", but I'm not.

I don't want to persuaded to make a choice that I wouldn't have made before simply because "time was running out"!

For accurate timing, I think the Major Arcana are able to give us a decent indication.

A Hermit, a Hanged Man, for instance would mean a long wait.

Judgement would be real real quick.

I think one has to also look at the cards that surround the "timing" card.

So if I want to know about timing, I would only use the Major Arcana.

The future isn't mapped like a clock in hours, weeks and months - I think our focus on this is a relatively modern phenomenon.

I believe best we can hope for in predictions are (months) seasons and years with any accuracy. Some spreads will just give no indication at all and there is a danger in forcing or dare I say - educated guessing under pressure - to suit a clients demand .

Now, I always ask clients to be a specific as possible in their question and if there is an element of timing to the question it helps with the response.

I have heard of those that can predict timewise with accuracy but I haven't met one.

It depends on the query & the spread as some readings offer a timing inadvertently.

Tend to see the Majors as in-progress or as long as it takes for the lesson to be learned. The pips to refer to time elements in terms of days, weeks, months, the season & even years. Those are interchangeable depending on surounding cards & how they strike me.

Any cards reflecting a personal card including its pip associations can provide a suggestion of time, such as a year card.

Have found the Celtic Cross to cover anywhere from the immediate or within 6 to 10 days up to 2 years.

I do have an idea - what if we asked our cards not for example "when will I meet the love of my life" but "what can I learn to be ready to meet the love of my life"? (as I believe that readiness for an event attracts it into my life).

This would, besides circumventing this uncomfortable time question in Tarot, take into account all other variables and our own specific developement, and if we then really work to accomplish what the cards suggest and are ready to meet the love of our life, we'll meet him/her.

Just a thought...

Its all about energies surrounding the event. I f something is going to happen quite soon, the relating to the event will be "strong" cards. If not, then the cards will be weaker. For instance, Death will happen soon whileSix of Swords is going to take a while. Still, I wouldn't want to the person I'm reading a schedule or something like that. Its all about intuition/

I used to be concerned with this also and have came to the conclusion, for myself anyways, that its best to stay away from trying to predict time. This is extremily difficult since Im an impatient person and want to know what is going to happen and when. But I have found that things are constantly evolving and changing, even destiny and fate. What destiny and fate have in store for you today, may not be in store for you tommorrow. If they say today that they want to to experience something next week, they may change their mind tommorrow and plan it for next month instead. Destiny and Fate and Time are all very fickle. I wish theyd make up their mind already....lol

Joseph Martin author of the quest deck has a interesting time telling technique, using the Aces for the seasons, then using your birthday and month to current year (yearly cycle) So if it's a 4 yearly cycle then it will be 4 weeks into the season, and depending on the outcome card (using the CC) say 5 of cups, then you go into the 4th week and the day in that week that adds up to a 5 will the day, eg 23rd/5. He then goes a step further and finds the hour of the day. So if the season was in the 12 month, you start counting 5(5cups)from the 12, if it's a odd number then it's am, even pm. the Aces have a picture of the season in one corner and a clock on the other corner.
If you wanted to find out how it's worked for him, he's a member of AT, or you can visit his webstite. Quest Tarot.

From my experience there is one possibility to get exact time but only if you are familiar with Crowley's deck (concept) and astrology. When you combine these two and if one have effemerides or good astrollogy software one can make quite precise predictions. The question is, when and why should Tarot reader be precise, and is it really important to tell exact time and date for possible /estimated/ event. Only few cases would require souch precission. If this is a question of entertaining clients and showing off, good, but in practice the need to be accurate is rare.

I have a friend who has done some readings for me that gave time frames.

The first predicted a meeting of someone in 6 weeks and I met the person on the internet in the specified week. It was "by accident" but we met as scheduled.

The second prediction was for "the near future" and predicted I would meet a Native American medicine man. I missed the meeting by 10 to 15 minutes. My friend said that he'd changed his focus from healing to power and meeting him was no longer helpful to my growth.

When I asked her how she did that, she said, "I just do it when it comes to me."

I guess that's the way it works, if you are open and it is necessary, the timing thing will come.
