I always say thanks after a reading to the cards, and will often talk to the cards before and during a reading, especially for distance reading. Do others do this too?

For me this depends on how much grounding I need.
Somedays are good, somedays I need more help than others.

In a word -- yes. But I'm talking to Spirit, who at that moment is speaking through the cards.

This is along the same ideah that I do. The only time i speak to the cards is through my mind. I ask them the question ofcorse and accuracy.

hmm when i'm reading for people that aren't there, i pretend that Spirit or whatever is sitting opposite me. I talk through my reading and see what Spirit tells me (thats my intuition working i think) and then note it all down to report back.
I havent had any disasterous readings so this is obviously good for me!
Oh i always talk out loud my questions.
I also tend to read with the telly on... very strange lol

I discuss the person with the cards. Maybe I am really talking to myself?

Or your higher-self?
I do not talk to the cards directly as such but to the various energies assisting in the reading.

I am so polite with my cards, always.
I feel they need my respect more then anything. I can carry on full conversations with my cards, and dont even realize it. They always take me on a great journey.

Yes, Star, exactly! That's why I always say thank-you to the cards after a reading. Both for politeness, but also out of respect

Hi Happiness,
I always talk to my cards during readings, whether for myself or for others. I have gotten into the habit of becoming acquainted with each new deck, handling it, looking it over, etc before I ever work with it, so by the time I am actually working it, we are friends. I look at the Tarot as my personal channel or connection with other planes - places where things are still coming into being, and the Tarot is giving me some foreknowledge or inidcators of what is to come, or sometimes just pointing out an aspect of something I had overlooked. Talking to the cards has created a real comfort zone for me and I fell has resulted in the strong connection that we have.

Hey all.
Yeah, I talk to the cards....especially when I see that darned Five of Pentacles showing up all the time.....I say, oh no, not you again....can't you leave me in peace? (LOL).
On a more serious note, I usually ask the universe or my spirit guides to assist me before I shuffle. Then I take three deep breaths, one for mind, one for body, one for spirit. I do this with a lot of other psychic stuff too.
Cheers
