I just received my Sacred Tarot set from an eBay auction. The set I got was sealed (and the dealer reputable - I know she will make good) but I had to post this:
The deck was missing 8 cards! Of my many, many decks, I have never bought a new deck which was even missing one card, let alone 8.
Can anybody beat this?
No prize to the winner by the way, hehe.

Hey C,
That is awful!!! Where they all Major Arcana or what?
Nightmare!
Are you going to contact the publisher to see if you can get replacements?

Actually they were spread out amongst the major and all four suits in the minor.
I contacted the person I received them from on eBay. She is a dealer and I know she has other decks as she lists them on a continuing basis.
It bummed me out at first as I was really anxious to get this deck, but as long as she makes good, I will be happy :)

Dan,
did you do a reading of the missing cards? It would be interesting to see if they told their own story.
Cheers

The incidence of missing and misprinted cards in new decks seems to be on the rise, but even so, eight missing cards is a lot! The greatest number of missing cards I've found in a new deck was four from my first Ancestral Path. I hope that you will receive your replacement cards quickly and that you will thoroughly enjoy that deck.

No, I sure can't beat that! I bought a new, cello wrapped deck on e-bay as well, but in fact had the correct number of cards when you counted them, but there were 2 cards that were duplicated, so in fact, was missing 2 cards, but had 2 extras...so I contacted both the dealer, and also the manufacturer of the cards (which was US games) in case one option fell through...Actually both the dealer and US games came through and I got the replacements of the missing cards...But I have heard whispers of some pirated decks on the market (with the high quality papers, digital imaging and printers, and the ability to cello your own products, it is possible!), although I can't prove it, and I can't help but wonder if the deck I bought from e-bay wasn't such a deck, as when I recieved the replacement cards from US games, the sheen of the paper was different than the cards I recieved from the dealer (and I wonder if I can't detect some slight misalignments in the patterns on the backs of some of the cards from the dealer) as well, the box that the cards came in was different than any i've seen US games selling (not the one with a top and bottom flap, but a box constructed in 2 pieces where the top slips over top of the bottom)...so, home pirated decks may actually be more frequent than we expect...... but then again, it seems like a lot of work for what I paid for these cards.....
