i am at the sun on the fools journey. just getting past the moon
now i await my judgment to see how the world turns for me. all i really want is to see where others are, and if they want to, please describe the circumstances that brought you to the tarot path. i will talk about anything tarot related. if you feel that you cannot publicize what you want to say, just e mail me. if you are stuck and are not sure what to beleive, i am here. i am not a sage, or an oracle. and i dont take myself seriously. what i am is a fool with a desire to help those who are lost. as i once was.

Hi Cartarum, Being at The Sun is good place to be. hehe, I was born there but don't get back often.
Did you find the experiences happened in the sequence? Did you have to go back and repeat experiences until you got them right? I find that I have, sometimes an embarrassing number of times. And sometimes lessons become completely unravelled and you really have to start again.
I see you are RWS only user. Lots of those here, including (mostly) me.

i agree. i find that most other decks just highlight certain aspects of the symbology of each of the cards. such an incomplete picture compared to the all-encompassing symbology of the rws. we shouldnt forget that waite was a scholar, and took his meanings from a variety of sources to make the most symbologically correct deck. dont you agree?
i too made many of my mistakes over again to learn the lessons that changed my life. my only regret is that i spent all that time reading cards when if i had just paid more attention to the world around me, i could have learned those lessons without leaving my spirit in virtual limbo. but that is all behind me now, and i look forward to what change of fate will bring to me now. no use crying over spilt milk eh?
they really didnt happen in any particular order, but the order of trionfi gave me an indication as to what to expect, and where to go next.
how did you start tarot?

Waite certainly looked at a wide variety of areas, and wrote numerous volumes on a variety of subjects, including Kabalah, Freemasonry, Alchemy and Tarot (and in all of these areas, some of his reflections are certainly only that, his reflections).

In addition, he also re-worked the Golden Dawn rituals to fit more his own personal preferences.

Personally, I do not view, though some of course may, the RWCS deck as in any way superior to others. For one, his GD inspired swap of Justice and Strength have questions which need to to carefully asked - and various people will determine their own answer in opposite ways. In many other ways, the deck will not be considered the most accurate for numerous other symbolic reasons - I could begin to list these, but suffice it to say that each and every card, in its principal deviation from a Marseille, would be my description. Others would likewise do the same from a comparison to the CH Thoth, yet others to comparisons to the Eteilla.

Each person's belief, of course, will be partly a reflection as to how they arrived at their current place along their individual life's journey, and would personally hope that when one feels somewhat lost in the wilderness of the multitude of criss-crossings of fellow travellers' previous paths, the call is made out not so much to another to determine what to believe, but to the depths of one's spiritual self, who may, with the spiritual world's guidance, discern the wisdom from the dross of other people's suggestions...

...enjoy your path as it criss-crosses with our various ones within this community :)
