Would anyone be reading, other than the first two cards pulled, for a reading, first?
******5
**4**1&2**6
******3
I've been thinking about this spread. I am going to start to read it as cards 3&4 first. The base of the situation & the past influences of the base. Then 1&2, the situation and obstacle.
The card 5 as what's ahead or next & 6 the future.
I'm beginning to think that just because the cards are picked 123 etc. we don't have to read them like that. I'm getting tired of being in such an orderly reader.
Does this way of reading make sense to read the past before the present? Or
Do other people read like this & not in order?

I turn up all the cards at once and get a general impression before I look at parts. Then I start to speak (for myself or a querent) with what strikes me most strongly. That may be 5/6 or 3/4 instead of 1/2.
It also depends on whether I know the issue or not.
Some people turn the cards over one at a time and do it in order. It depends on what feels right in the moment, and it's always good to try new variations.

I also generally read the basis first. Often just all over the reading, and seldom just read 1,2,3,4... etc. Looking for key elements and relationships.

Thanks for the replys!
I know better than to ask a question like this. I always read in order & know that almost anything goes.I'm having an off day I guess.

I usually read with celtic cross spread, i turn all the cards over at once and look them over. I usually focus on cards 1 and 2, the heart of the matter, first, and then look at how the other cards tie in with this, and each other. Works for me! :)
