ramblings of a Lunatic

There I sat, wanting to play cards.
It was a tough decision. Which deck?
There they all hung, each in thier own individual bags that expresses each decks essence.
Old trusty Legends?
Hmm, one of the newer decks?
I reached out and fondled this bag and then that one.
I came to a bag that was cream in color and covered with pastel butterflies in blue, yellow, and pink. There are green stems & flowers. The Inside of the bag, lined in a soft light blue plush velour. I put a newer deck into this 'reject' bag, until a bag gets made just for the deck.
When I touched it, that was it. I pulled the bag from the wall and then pulled the deck from the bag. I stopped to take a look at the back of the deck, remember now, this is my newest addition.
Now what did I see?
Butterflies- on a blue back ground. The blue is a a dark blue though. What an amazing this this is! This bag, even though I am bright bold color person myself, I don't usually go for pink, baby pink. I called this bag a 'reject' not because it is falwed, but becuase it is not quite up to my standards. I had been using it to take home my tip money. But, new deck, empty bag- hey, it works right?
-little did i know
I pull three cards and get the Ace of Cups, the Hierophant, and the 6 of Wands. The two minors share a common symbol. There are 2 pairs of wings in each. The Ace reminds me of of one of my sigs- Peace Love & Happiness~
The six of wands reminds me of Firemaiden's words "paint the town red"
And the Hierophant - Faith.
I have a self developed faith, and it works quite well for me.
Some lessons have taken a long time to learn, while other's seems so obvious it was never really ever a lesson.

Off to another deck. Now why does this deck not have a bag?
I have had it since last year. Hmm, must be it's nature to be the opposite of other decks.
I drew three cards, and we have the Ace of Pentacles, the 8 of Pentacles- Rx, and the Hierophant.

I knew that guy was gonna show up again.
Interesting, the deck aknowledges that it does not have a bag and that, Yes, I want to have a bag like all the other decks

ok- let's see- does the Hierophant want to play?
Legends~ Knight & King of Cups both Reversed and Temperance.
I take that as a Yes.

The blue bag with feather patterns-
I pull the deck from it's cozy home and shuffled the cards five times and drew - Ace of Wands, the World, the Sun, 7 of Pentacles Rx and 4 of Swords.
OK- so he's not in this deck, what deck the World and the Sun.
Oh he's hiding good! I can't seem to locate the World Spirit deck!

Well- the elusive Heirophant seems to have become a Hermit.

Oh luna, you're so entertaining even when you hardly make any sense

InvisibleSoul  28 Mar 2004
Well, it kept me glued to the screen in anticipation! :)

Oh nothing, I got the jist of your enthusiasm. I just find it silly, in a very interesting sort of way :D

What amazes me is that when you placed that deck in what you considered a "reject" bag, you placed it in one that (by your post) appears to match it beautifully. Not so lunatic an action if you ask me, unless by lunatic you mean influenced by the Moon, or ... intuitive? :D

the deck & bag was a sweet match-
like the Moon and her duality-
be it chaos or coincidence- either way will work

1+2+3+1+1+9+6+7= 3

Every Empress has her throne right?
Well- mine happens to be a big fat {have no idea how I got it through the little door} old thing right in front of my computer.
I have to stuff old pillows under the seat cusion to make up for the fool who never flipped the cusion now and then. A BIG blanket covers it usually- other times it's covering me.
The chair is so big, I put things in it- it is an extension of my desk.
they all call it my nest....

Well my nest has a black hole- If it's lost- look in "the chair"!

I was instructed to look in a partiular deck for the Hierophant- I believe the deck to be inside the chair's black hole.
So let's go see what we find, eh?

OH! Look! a bag, with a deck- not it.....
oh- another bag- no deck-
42 cents
a pair of socks- good thing, tommorrow is laundry day
3 impliments of fire-
saver shields {grocery store things}

well- The deck I thought I was supposed to look for is not in the black hole.
Let me see what this other deck says- maybe the cards want to send me on a goose chase-
They are very warm from being......nevermind

I shuffle 5 times and draw five cards
7 of earth
3 of fire
9 of earth
4 of water
knave of earth

7-earth has astrological representations; Saturn and Taurus-
The characters on the card are 'of the cloth'.
3-fire has the Sun and Aries-
Guess I'm not going to find it until after the Sun moves into Taurus.

9-earth shows a girl bening over like she's looking for something-
wonder what it's under?
4-water, the character is suprised....I really did think it was in the chair.
the Knave- he's an erie fellow, if you had only a quick look at him, you might think of a sinister Pan.

Now I know the deck did not sprout wings or legs for that matter.
It has to be someplace-
hmmm....
all that Earth-
I must ask the other goat in the house if they know where it might be.

*laughs* Luna! That was beautiful!

Imagemaker  29 Mar 2004
I love the effect (of these posts) of a luna-minicam, only the images are in my head.

And I love chairs like that! A nest, a womb, a launching pad . . .

lunalafey  29 Mar 2004
I have found the absent deck- it was not in the black hole of the chair, but the shadows the chair casts upon the corners.
It's about time!

I shuffle the deck- "oh mi hiero, where are you hiero!?
Oh- dear- It is not this deck that you will reveal yourself to me.
STAR- 6 of Pent- Seeker of Wands {knight}- 10 of Wands- JUSTICE.....
I could only hope- And that I did- So much so I went on a mad hunt for the deck- ventured into the void of the nest...
I so expected the Wise-Guy to be hidding in this deck. Well- I guess I got what I deserved. He said, 'So ya' think you'll find me there....' and then just jumps right over to another deck.

Perhaps I should send the High Priestess after his a**!

The 6 pent, star & justice share some aspects.
The Star, the maiden who pours the water from [i]two[i] vessels- one in either hand- balanced- yet there is imbalance. One flow of water hits upon stone, the other has farther to fall....to hit the water. It is on the right that the water tips lower.....
In the 6P, A gypsie offers the scales to one who has less, the scales tips to the right.
In Justice, the scales sit in the left side of the card, but tip to the right.
I see the Seeker as this elusive one and he's lazily sitting back upon his mount and just laughing at me.
But this 10, there is something fearful about the sun's light.

Perhaps the Hierophant does not think I am ready to find him.
Silly guy- what does he know!!!!

now- where is he.....he's around here some place.....

SILLY!
that's it-
I get my Fey deck & pull 5 cards
I don't see the Hierophant- but silly me forgot. The Fey have no religion- there is not a hierophant in the deck if you needed one!!!!
nope- didn't see him; but I did hear this song by David Bowie-
--{actually- just the "church on time" kept skipping in my head.
I had to do a search to get the song}
It fits very nicely!!!

Modern Love

I know when to go out
And when to stay in
Get things done

I catch a paper boy
But things don’t really change
I’m standing in the wind
But I never wave bye’bye

But I try
I try

There’s no sign of life
It’s just the power to charm
I’m lying in the rain
But I never wave bye’bye

But I try
I try

Never gonna fall for
Modern love walks beside me
Modern love walks on by
Modern love gets me to the Church on Time
Church on Time terrifies me
Church on Time makes me party
Church on Time puts my trust in God and Man
God and Man no confessions
God and Man no religion
God and Man don’t believe
in Modern love

the Fey where-
King of Pent- 2 of wands- 8 of swords- Queen of Cups- 6 of wands & 10 of cups.

lunalafey  02 Apr 2004
I just can't seem to find this guy- some sluething is in order.
Once again I find myself on a hunt. This time, for a magnifing glass. Maybe, if I look in the smaller places I might find the Hierophant.

AH! there it is.....it is a big heavy thing, one of the few things of my childhood that survived time and travel.

I stick my fingers into a purple bowl and pull 5 tiny paper rectanges.

Judgement- Knight of Pentacles- 8 of wands- Chariot & Page of Wands says
"why are you even looking for the Heirophant?"

I don't know!
!somehow this all started somehow!
With who I am, the hierophant would be one I don't really associate with too much. In fact before he went into hidding, this was the most I have seen him in a long while.
I have nothing against the guy, I just don't really go for anything to structured. Maybe I scared him a way with freeflying-lunar thinking ways....oh well.....

I have a new sunny hillside that needs floral decoration.
I wish it was not so windy out, there is quite a chill as well.
I have been wanting to get going in the garden.
so I guess I'll just pacify myself with a deck.
OH!
perfect- Tarot Floral~ aka the spirit of flowers.
The Hierophant in this deck is among carnations- I like carnations, but they seem to be somewhat of a 'generic' flower.

A mix and cut from the deck produces the High Priestess. I think the flowers look like Gardenias- except for the one on her head.
That one looks like an apple blossom......the book says it's a camellia- OK.
I look through the deck and find the Chariot, that's the card with the Gardenia's. I love these flowers. The plant is so strong looking. Big bush sometimes. But never touch the flowers! never.
The flowers will turn brown, they basically bruise easily.
They smell so gooood too. I used to have a potted gardenia, small still. The neighbors dog trampled it.
I should get another one.

I cut the deck again- The Devil- lol, Capricorn me sees this darn thing all the time. ROFL- The devil is always right around the corner- but I can't seem to find the Pope to save my life.
I like this card. The boy reminds me of my little cousin- OH- who happens to be a capricorn as well. They moved away and my daughter misses him very much. I have a cute -{muwahahaa}- picture, some 'trick photography' with angles, of my cousin with a devil's pitchfork through his neck- dead- eyes fixed and wide, mouth agape, arms dangling- lol- the kid is a little devil too, but he can be so charming. I miss him as well.
The flower here is passionflower- they grow well around here.
I should get one.

again I cut the deck- oh the 4 of cups- his little sister, and purple petunias.
I should get some.

this time I shuffle three times- cutting brought out the part of the family that has moved away :(

Queen of Cups and Hydrangea- big blooms of purple-blue flowers.
they grow well around here too. Pretty hardy I believe. Nice specimens, of good size, cost a bit of money.
Maybe I'll get lucky and find one on sale cuz it fell over & got broke- but not killed, and it just needs some TLC until new growth is formed.

I pull from the top- there's a little cutie-pie in what looks like a magnolia, Ace of Swords- ah yes, magnolia.
One of those will have to wait. I love magnolias but I want a place where I can put it in the ground. My poor roses, they are wanting ground, but I can't give it to them yet.

off the top- 3 of swords, I recognise the flower by sight. They look like mini-white morning glories. They are also a vine-like ground/fence cover. They grow wild around here- hmm, what are they?
oooooo
they sound naughty- rofl- 'convolvulus'
I don't need any of those.

one more off the top- VIII~ Daffodiles! oh!! no!!
book says narccisus- I don't believe it! this is an injustice within floral identification! naccissus are always all white, at least all that I have seen. These flowers are centered in yellow, the petals are not as lacey as a narccisus should be!
I was wondering why there where two cards with daffodils!
ummm....there's no listing in the book for daffodils.....I grab my deck and thumb through-
was it an illusion?
I had gone through the deck when I first got it and seperated the flowers I could name {right or wrong} and those I could not.
the two piles where totally equal.

UHG! the knight of Pentacles has what I believe are daffodils Ok- now I'm confussed. The book says the knight is jonquils.
I guess the difference is colorations....
I don't get it? I have seen daffodils in all yellow and light yellow & deep yellow, yellow & orange.....
must research

lunalafey  11 Apr 2004
short attention span theater~
the movie rolls from flowers that grow in a garden to a little box in a post office.
Inside the box is an envelope. Inside the envelope is another box.
This is a real box, not some flimsy thing with flaps. This is a box where the top slides neatly over the bottom.
It is old.
The colors are basic and simple.
Open the box and there is a deck of cards inside.
The backs have a design that takes me back to the days I sat on grandpa's lap while he played poker.

I smell the deck, it even smells like my grandparents house.
There is only my grandmother left.

I cut and let the cards slide from one hand into the other in small sections. Flipping the part of the deck in the lower hand from side to side so the cards falling fall on both sides of the pack.
I refuse to shuffle a deck with such antiquety.

Missing it's landing point and falling onto the table is the-
Chevalier des Batons

I stare at the card, like I have never seen a Knight of Wands before.

"WHAT IS THIS?"

....not fluff, that's for sure.....

I wonder how it is that this horseman relates to my grandmother.
Might this be her husband? He looked like a guy who could be scary, but really his favorite torture was to tease.
I loved to see the dentures come flying out and then dissapear back in his mouth- out of nowhere he would do this.
I was there the first time he did this to my cousin. Ohhh, he did not like it at ALL. He screamed and he cried. Poor guy was momentarily terrified. Everyone else, very amused.

The horse is chestnut colored. A very common coloration for a horse. The color comes in many different shades. I would not think the rider to be a good equestrian based on his body proportions, where the horse has good conformtion.
{with those tiny feet, he'll never have to worry about getting his foot stuck in the stirrup}

This old deck that is so new to me, I do not know what to make of it. I'm not sure, a bit intimidated. Even knowing symbols inside and outside of tarot, I hesitate.
Once again, I find myself with a deck that is so different from most of my others.

I like it this way, for I want to look upon these cards as if I have never seen a deck of cards in my life.

I don't like this knight. He has a club and he's ready to use it. From the look on his face, I would say that he has quite the bone to pick with someone. He's on the rampage. His horse seems to resist. Almost as if knowing what is better in this situation.
Then again, there is a good stubborn side to all equine.

I bet he's mad about the feet comment.

lunalafey  23 Apr 2004
That sound-
"BARK-BARK-BARK"
It's driving me crazy {lol- not really, actually I think it's kinda funny}
The red-headed dog is on the leash. Why? she was naughty....
she was told to 'come' she wagged her tail back and forth three times turned and walked away with her nose in the air.
-what a b****!
So now she's on a short leash, one she cannot break of chew through. She knows this, so she barks. These are no ordinary barks. Indy is a mountain mutt, she has rednose pit, labrador, wolf and retriever in her. I have been told that the rednose dogs tend to talk rather than bark.
So I wonder what it is she is saying, perhaps the cards can tell me.
Hmmm....
which deck?
AH
Cat People!

What?
you say.

It's like this- the dog is a Leo. She's the tawny red-gold of a lion.
A rough sandpaper tounge, that when whe licks you she draws it out and pushes, pushes with her tounge.
She has a mane around her neck and chases flashlight beams with an obsession that would put any feline to shame.

BARK! BARK-BARK BARK!
what she's saying-
4 cards-
Indy- the dog, 9 of Cups
her needs, 9 of Wands Reversed
her disfunction, 0-FOOL {lol}
Us- the owners, Page of Cups

She really is a good dog, but rather than the best-friend obediant canine, she has that snob cat-attuded. Don't get me wrong. I am a full fledged cat person. I's amused by the stand-offish personality of the cat.
But Indy, she cat-like. She's very good at being cat like. Because of this unusual personality, she is a delight. She is very smart and succeeds where most dogs would not. How many dogs do you know, can open a sliding glass door? -not with the nose, not with the door part way open....
She is well loved and well cared for, spoiled in fact!!!
If she would only listen better when we need her to. She needs to listen better! She won't come always, she has other ideas.
Like- oh! a car! I just walk real slow across the road, they will stop
She needs to pay better attention and not have that self absorbed- I rule- attitude.
Her malfunction is her Leo traits coming through to much
She thinks she can just do what she wants on a whim. She thinks she's the boss. I come home from work and she will sit in front of me and stare! If I don't pay attention to her, she starts with a throat rumble with a whah whah. She keeps talking to me until I pet her and tell her she's a good dog.
If one of us picks up the keys, she's got you by the hand pulling you to the door!
If she hears the 'F' or 'H' word {food/hungry} she's up and putting your hand in her mouth and tries to lead you to the food cabinet.
Dog pulling human forward- not holding human back!
What's up for the owners- Page of Cups- we are just suckers for a canine face. We melt when we see her look at us with those expressive eyes. We get playful and tease the poor pooch now and then with anything that makes a clicking sound like the switch on a flashlight. She falls for it and obsessivly stares at the floor. We get a good laugh and then hug her.
