... I got over my fear of reading face to face pretty quickly tonight at work. See.. I haven't read face to face in well over a year. One day everything just went blank. I couldn't do one reading and I refused to do any others after that. I think now I was just having a really bad bad day. So.. being a wednesday night at the bar, its pretty darn slow. I just recently purchased the Animal Lords tarot and took it to work with me. I was thinking it would be a great time to just enjoy thumbing through the cards to help the night go on faster. Somewhere in the middle of the shift, a friend, (not really outside of work friend.. but a male that I speak with regularly as he comes into the bar quite often) said 'When are you ever going to read for me?'. We have always had wonderful conversations in the past about tarot, religions, spirituality, the list goes on. I was still doubting myself. He asked to look at the deck as he has several others I have brought in there. After a few minutes fo thumbing through them himself, he pulled out the lwb and decided if I weren't going to do it he would attempt one himself! hehe After a while of his funny remarks and what nots of his own. He talked me into reading the selected cards. As I did.. I don't know how long I stood there, between serving others, talking over the cards. But it was a wonderful feeling. He didn't say a thing until I was finished. That was the worst feeling.. no reaction.. nothing at all. I was sure that I was sounding like a load of BS. I was sure I would forever doubt myself even more. After I was finished he then told me how 'on the money' I was. I have to say.. it was the best feeling that I have felt in a long long time. So.. thank you everyone here at AT.. for planting those lil thoughts randomly into everyones mind here to just 'get out there and do it!'. I'm glad I came out from under my rock tonight. Congrats Melissa! I'm still trying to come out from under my rock. It doesn't help that when I mention anything "occult-related" people around here start flashing the crucifix and say that I need to be saved. *sighs deeply*

Melissa, that's great! And I totally relate, having had the experience of going blank during readings. I admire you for getting "back on the horse," and am very happy to hear the result! You must feel on top of the world today, and rightly so. :)

What an encouraging story you have! I'm under a rock, as well...but am always prepared with a deck in my bag should the urge to read for someone overcome me.

i am very happy for you, now if i had the courage to come out from under my little rock (that tells you, how timid i feel about reading face to face for people) i am glad you have learned from AT. i have learned and have much more to learn from everyone here, and everyone's post is very important. it is a great feeling when someone tells you that you are on the money, i remember it was like a rush when someone told me that once. keep the feeling and go back out there again! yay!
