Would anyone like to share the best deal or greatest treasure you managed to get? What did you acquire that you are the proudest of? What did you get that you value the most?...i'll have to look over my collection and really ponder this one before I post my reply!

I was surprised, I thought the answer would just jump out at me...I have so many decks I treasure that I got for a deal or a steal, but then I realized, the one deck I treasure the most, is actually the one I never use, but one I could never part with...it is the IJJ Swiss tarot, and it was that was given to me as a gag gift, but it ended up turning me on and tuning me in to tarot...it was what got me started on tarot. I used it extensively in the beginning, when I was learning, but once I discovered Rider Waite styles, I went to them and never went back to the IJJ...I can't part with it, it is probably the least valuable in monetary value, but the one with the most sentiments attached....

the best deal I got was a $15.00 tarot kitset that I bought for my own Xmas present and it got me interested in the tarot. Because it was a cheapie, I even wrote keywords on it to help me remember the cards, and then when I did remember I twinked the keywords out, it was uncomplicated as it showed no other details, just wands, swords etc no other graphic detail to throw me off. I've also got the ancestral path tarot deck. The pictures are so beautifully painted, I always got hot hands holding them. Although I never use them now, I only used them for 2 weeks until I bought my current deck the Quest. Something about the sacred circles on the ancestral I couldn't connect with. but I don't think that i would give them away to anyone yet, as they're beautiful. My favourite card for that deck was "the High Priestess" she was beautiful.

I got the Blue Rose Tarot for $40 in a little shop in NYC! There was no price on it, and the woman said just give me 40. No problemo, I answered!
I love the Blue Rose Tarot, it is one of my favorites. I will never let it go, and it is so sturdy, it will probably never wear out!

My greatest treasure and best deal was the trade I did with Faunabay for my beloved Aquarian deck....it is old, but completely intact and functional.
This 34 year old deck was my salvation when I began to worry about my ability to physically handle a tarot deck.
All the new decks I tried had very slippery laminated finishes and stiff, unflexible cardstock that I would never be able to 'break-in.'
The broken-in cards of my Aquarian, with that matte finish, were the perfect solution to my dilemma.
As an older deck, it probably also has 'collectible' value, but for me, it is an irreplacable treasure and a solution to a very serious issue for me.
My Aquarian Tarot continues to be one of my main reading decks.
Also, it came from a fellow Aeclectician, making it extra-special!

My greatest treasures are the decks that I got as presents from friends. Such as the Tarot d'Or and the Jolanda den Tredjes Tarot, both presents from very dear AT friends. And the Tarot of the Old Path, which was a present from one of my best friends, who hardly knows anything about tarot, but visited shop after shop to find a deck that I liked and was very concerned whether I actually liked it. Of course I liked it, it was a gift from her, very carefully chosen with lots of love and care! :)

My best bargain was my first copy of the Hoi Polloi, which I grabbed off Ebay Buy It Now! status for $6.99 US; it wasn't labelled. My greatest treasure is my Tarot de la Rea, which Baba-Prague found for me, for which I will always be in her debt.
Thanks, Karen!

My benefactor was also baba-prague.
The Pierre de Lasenic Tarot is something very very special to me.

Contrary to the pictures on the web-site, my deck is in colour. I don't know if the original was in black or white - I can't remember now.
I traded it for a Zerner Farber deck, if my memories are correct. And wow, I got something worth 1000 times in its place. One day I will have to do something for baba-prague to show her my appreciation.

My best deal had to have been just last night (and if you're reading this Russell, THANK YOU SO MUCH!). I went to a shop nearby my house, since they were having a sale on divination things. I went to look at the collection of decks they had for sale, since I bought like 3 of my decks there. I didn't really find anything that interested me, and I was talking to one fo the shop owners about it. That's when he brought my attention to a big pink box.
....pink...yeah.....
Well, I thought, let me at least feel the box, see if I feel any connection to it, any calling....nothing, nada, zip....sigh...but then I decided, well, let me read the back of the box, and that was when I read about the Inner Child Deck....Robin Hood....Little Red Riding Hood....The Big Bad Wolf....and that was when I remembered....
Firemaiden did an online reading with this deck for someone, I don't know who, and I was so intrigued by the deck. So I decided, I'll get it, and if I don't like it, I don't like it, no biggie. But this morning, I went through the deck, and...I can't stop smiling, it's such a happy deck! This is really the only deck that I *know* needs a pink cloth with it and some rose quartz. :D Pink just *fits* this deck!

I've been happy with what has come these past two years, but my longest-awaited deck isn't quite published yet.
So let this be a placeholder until the end of August...whenever I hear that Tarotgarden.com or Alidastore.com has updated their site...
Sigh...

I too thought this would be easy to answer, because nearly all the decks I have are treasures to me.
If it's true that the Osho Zen will soon become a rarity, then I would say that that is my prize possession, not only because of that, but because it is textually what I like to call 'completely spiritual/mystical' when compared to other decks.
Yet, I could also say Voyager is the one, since I had so much difficulty obtaining it.
I think, though, that Guardians of Wisdom has to be my answer to this question because of the kindness of the artist and creator of this deck in her personal dealings with me. She is a beautiful person and her artwork is filled with light. :)

I think my greatest treasure - shared, though - is the Servants of the Light that my best friend and I trade between ourselves...
We bought it together about 10 years ago at a local used bookstore (Powell's rawks!) for $10... and since then, it's been hers, then mine, then my sister's, then mine again... it was going to go to another friend, but he decided he didn't really want it, so it's back with my friend now...
So there's a rule we have... this deck NEVER gets sold, but only given to those who it fits... and if they don't want it, they give it back to my friend and I.
Nice, no?

Ohhhh I have so many treasures that it is hard for me to pick a few but I will give it my best shot.
I got the Quick and Easy Tarot Deck in the bargin bin at Borders for $3.00 and that was exciting just because I love to bargin hunt :)
Then there is the Greenwood deck that i got off of Amazon because I had put in a request for one and a dealer had them new and still wrapped and it was $18 (not bad)
I found the "Power Deck" By Lynn V. Andrews & Robb Schouten at half price books used for $12 and that was just after I had seen a few go for alot more online.
This one is really special to me a yellow version De Laurence- I got this deck with 5 others in a lot (it is missing 4 cards) but who cares it is just soooo cool and the cards are in mint shape. :)
The Tarot de Sissi- The artwork on this deck is just lovely and I gave up ever being able to get a copy and thanks to Aeclectic I now have one and it is super.
The Wolf Pack tarot- I wanted this one soooo bad for a long time and I was feeling really blue and my boyfriend bought it for me at xmas and it is a deck I just can't stop looking at.
Well I could keep going but I am sure your all yelling for me to stop lol

Ilithiya, that is such a cool idea, sharing a deck! I just love reading about everyone's treasures and bargains...dolphingirl, i love the wolfpack tarot too, i think it's underated and not fairly considered for it's merits.

I am fortunate to have lots of caring friends. I think that at least 12 of my 62 decks are gifts from friends and another 30 or so are from trades.
My most recent great deal is the Alchemical set that I got for just 250 kr (about 20-22 US dollars)
But my greatest treasure is the Transformational which I got in a trade with ravenswing here on the forum.
