:) Hi Everyone,
Sometimes when I'm doing a reading some cards pop right out of my hands, When this happens should I look at them and remember them and put them back into the deck or should I set them aside?

I always note the card that comes out - usually it answers the question I have in mind. I dont take it out, just note it, continue shuffling. It comes out by itself again (!!!!) when I lay out a spread.
I always feel these jumping cards 'jump" for a reason :)

I don't know if there's a "should" involved, but I usually pay special attention to those ones that try to escape! In fact, it happened today when I was doing a reading for a coworker and I actually thought that card had more significance than any of the others I threw.

Hi Moon86
I always note down any "jumpers" that come out, but then put them back in the deck and keep shuffling. The jumpers can often give additional insight to a reading or show some other aspect that needs to be considered or included in the summary of the reading.
Often these jumpers end up being dealt out in the spread as well - then I pay particular attention to them.

I always take a peak and it almost never makes sense to the reading at hand so I just put the card back into the deck and keep going. Rachel Pollack once told me that she also peeks at the bottom card after a reading. I've tried that too but again, I've never had much success with it. But if it works for you well....

Thanks for all your replys. I think what I'll do is what some of have said is to note them down and put back and continue shuffling, that's what I was doing before but I wasen't sure if that was the right thing to do... Thanks again :)

I always note them, put them back and continue to shuffle. I have yet to have these jumpers not show up in the spread. In fact I did a reading for a co-worker and the same card dropped out twice while she was shuffling. I took note of it and when laying the the spread the first card laid was the jumper. She was quite amazed because she had continued to shuffle a long time after the jumper had appeared. I was beginning to think she would never stop! I always tell people to shuffle until they get a feeling that it is time to stop. They think I'm crazy at first but are then amazed when it happens. After shuffling they cut the deck into 3 piles and put them back together and hand them to me. I think this was what really amazed her when the jumper showed up first.

often jumpers are simply a sign that you are not focussed enough. if it happens often or if a whole bunch of cards fall out, this may be the case. stop. take a deep breath, center, and shuffle again.
if it happens rarely, and is only one or two cards, you might take note of the ones that fall face up.

This happens to me quite a bit, it is almost as if someone just flips a card around while I am shuffeling. In my experience it always has a good bit of advice for the reading, when I put it back it usually ends up in the layout again. I don't think it should be ignored.

I always put the jumper aside and read that card last. I've found that it either ties the reading together or warns me of potential obstacle depending on the type of reading I'm doing.

I love jumpers. I adore jumpers.
I've done entire 3 card readings solely with jumpers. Sometimes the one alone will tell the tale, but other cards will fill in the background, so to speak.

I too have this happen a lot to me... I do note the card and if they dont appear in my reading I incorporate them on the end.. maybe the question or questions weren't answered fully during the original spread.. they sometime hold the deciding factor for me..

my mother always said, "what falls at your floor, falls at your door!"
So I always read them just like in a spread, and put them in again to finish suffling. Although I have had my question answered before I ever reached the spread!

I had actually been wondering about this myself. I did a reading for my cousin this weekend. She dropped 3 or 4 cards on the ground (we were doing a reading outside) So I told her to relax and move closer to the table :)
I noticed the cards but didn't really think too much about it. Except when I did her spread one of the cards she had dropped came back in her spread. Does this happen a lot to people? I'm new so I notice EVERYTHING right now.

Happens all the time, at least three out of five times I do a reading, the cards are very helpful. It's kinda funny how I never drop cards when I'm playing kaiser or poker.

Hello!
I let the jumper jump out at me. I keep them aside and use them as a 'suppliment' to the reading. I love them! I never put them back in the deck as I believe those cards are trying to tell me something right there and then. I make sure I note in my Tarot Journal what the jumper cards are and when them jumped out (before, during, or after I began to lay the cards out in the spread).
