one time, i was reading with the minors only, and i got an innocent looking spread about a guy that i knew at work.
somehow i got the feeling that i might never see him again.
that day he was killed on his way home. his throat was cut.
im gonna miss you, knight of swords.

Cartarum: That is a traumatic way to find out that one's intuition is on the mark.
Do ye want to talk about it? Ye are welcome to PM me.

Cartarum,
I am so sorry about your friend. So very sorry. I wish there was something I could say to make things like this easier. It is always so difficult to loose people we care about.
Hang in there.

Cartarum, I am very sorry for your loss. I agree with MeeWah, that's a heck of a way to find out your intuition is reliable.

An experience like this is why I shake my head when some people post that they'd love to have premonitions. Generally they don't foretell joy as much as tragedy.
It's not so wonderful to carry the knowledge ahead of time. Sylvia Browne has said that she told God, "Don't tell me the bad stuff if I can't do anything to stop it."
After that her premonitions about murders and suffering came only about events she could try to change.

Cartarum, I send you big hugs hon.
While the premonition part of it may be a little scary, I read this and felt like it was a gentle gift to you.
That Spirit was trying to prepare you a little bit, as much as one can be "prepared" for something like this.
Don't be afraid of it. You are very loved.

thankyou all for your kind words, i appreciate your insights and sympathys always. it is hard sometimes to acknowledge that one is powerless, even in the face of all this mystery and magic. i am just glad that i was given this life, under these circumstances, as myself. i wouldnt trade it for any thing.
thank you~

I have a close friend who has had this experience a few times. She refuses to read the tarot anymore because she believes she in some way caused it. Me and my partner have tried hard to explain that she in no way caused it...she just saw what was going to happen. It is still a trying experience.

Intuition is a mystery. We often realize too late what we are sensing. As we move into the future, we are becoming more in touch with ourselves, but still raised to doubt, and fear. So as we get older we often have to relearn to listen to our spirit again. I am sorry for your loss, sometimes it is seems we are powerless, but do not confuse responsibility with being at fault.

It must be very traumatic. Why do the cards tell us these things? :( It's awful. I've just had a similar experience, and until now I can't grasp the full meaning of it; what it means when someone is simply NOT THERE ANYMORE. She was so alive when I last saw her. I can imagine it must be worse for you. I hope you'll feel better somehow. Feel free to talk to us about it. Do PM us and such.

I had a similar experience in college. I was sound asleep...woke with a start.. sat bolt up right and had a vision of a favorite art professor laying flares for a flat in his small green sports car.... he was hit and killed by a drunk driver. The drunk driver was caught, prosecuted and served 20 yrs in prison....
The next day my vision was validated in all respects..including exact time...:(
Please feel free to PM me if you like...
