*Pouts* Ok, I have NO idea why they are doing this.. but my Robin Wood tarot cards are starting to stick together.. I keep them in their box and inside a cloth bag.. the surfaces of the cards don't appear to be sticky but when you sort through them, they are sticking and clumping together...
I can shuffle them ok but I don't want them to get any worse!! Anyone else have this problem? My friend suggested I dust them lightly with baby powder.. but.. I don't want to do anything to "harm" them.. does anyone have any ideas??
*desperately hoping*

Baby powder, talc or corn starch will all work, just dust them lightly with it, rub a little with a soft cloth & clean them off with the same cloth - shaking it out (you want them lightly coated but not showing powder). This keeps them from sticking together for a while.

I have at times needed to apply a few drops of lavender or eucalyptus oil on a tissue to cleanse some cards of sugary or other liquid substances they have inadvertently picked up...
It is not difficult for this to occur, and not difficult to clean off.
This is not the problem of which you speak, as in your case, it seems more that they are perhaps accumulating static electricity or just have no space for air (like two panes of perfectly flat glass: impossible to pull them apart).
In that case, I would do as suggested by HudsonGray... I would probably, in my case, also apply a little bit of moisture on a tissue, to 'break' the surface finish.

Hi all,
If you live where the humidity is high, this can cause the cards to stick together. If you can get some of those silicon packets that come inside some medicine bottles or other products, that will help absorb the extra humidity. An old remedy for absorbing excess moisture is to put about a tablespoon of rice in a small piece of netting and tie it up with a ribbon. The rice will absorb the moisture. When I was little, my mom used to put some rice grains in our salt shaker to keep the salt from clumping together during the humid summer weather. The rice was too big to go through the salt shaker holes so it remained in the shaker and only the salt came out. It works.
