In an infomercial, the psychic drew the following four cards from the Albano-Waite tarot deck for a 4-card spread:
- High Priestess
- Chariot
- Sun
- Death
(I presume that the psychic was drawing from the major arcana only.)
She predicted:
- The female querent will be divorced from her husband of some 15 years marriage
- He is cheating on the querent
- The querent will fall in love with a lover, that lover will divorce his wife, and the querent and that lover will marry.
What are your thoughts on precise tarot readings of this nature?
P.S. In the same infomercial, there were other psychics too. Not surprisingly, there were other very precise tarot card readings. One of psychics, Wirth deck in hand, predicted that there were four pregnancies in the cards. The female querent confirmed she has 3 kids already. The psychic confirmed that the querent would have the fourth child in a year and a half from now. (Sorry I didn't note the cards.)

An infomercial is a very long commercial, sometimes up to half an hour. It uses very lengthy demos and testimonials to sell the product or service.
Rusty, I have never seen a legit tarot reader do that. Even the most brilliantly psychic never seem to come up with that level of precise detail.

Obviously. Infomercials are normally pre-recorded, sometimes in front of an audience but even then, rehearsed and planned down to the last detail.
I've never bought anything from one, but they are fun to watch sometimes. Still, if they are advertising something you actually see that works on air. that's one thing. But it must be asked if they are not making promises they cannot fulfill, and thats called fraud and false advertising. And I for one, would have trouble beleiving a reading thsats so precise and on a commercial to boot!!

Hi all,
Personally, I think there is a huge difference between a psychic reading and a tarot reading. I don't think the cards alone could give that kind of detail. If someone were psychic, they could be getting information from sources other than just the cards.

Sounds like they were selling the product, and wrote the script accordingly.
Broadcast advertising writer's objective : sell the product as convincingly as possible, with the fewest words spoken.
What were they selling? Was it a Psychic Hotline infomercial, or just psychics tied into a Miracle Juicer, or Jose Eber's Hair Extensions gig?
My guess is it was a show about receiving psychic readings. Therefore, they wrote the script accordingly. Without having seen it, I don't know for sure, but if it was a reader and "phone-in" querent, or a querent from the audience, then it was scripted, on both ends, and meant to sell the "accuracy and amazement of receiving a psychic reading."
Hence, the "incredibly accurate details" from 4 Tarot cards.

Sounds similar to the Ms Cleo's commercials which were fun to watch, though I wish I had paid more attention.
In general, there are too many variables for a cutting edge precision.
Based on the personal experiences in some readings, tend to think it possible to be precise under certain circumstances; however, may depend on the nature of the query & the method used.

huh.weird.
I have actually, occasionally in the past, given out that type of precise detailed info to querants.
I do realize that I have never been 100% accurate with that kinda thing...but then again,I do often give "psychic readings"...rather than "tarot readings"
(all that stuff that just sort of comes spilling into my brain...)
I do find it very interesting that the infomercial reading had those particular details come up with those particular cards.
maybe they were psychic...or maybe it was a script...cuz I just can't see it.
(it's the Chariot that kinda throws me...)
Then again...maybe in that situation...looking at that person, at that time , I too might have come up with that conclusion.
Who knows...
