Well, if it was a suicide attempt, he had 2 hours to think it over.
And if it was a tarot enactment, he apparently made no plans for getting himself down.

A suicide attempt gone wrong with a rope dangling around handily to get caught in? Hmmmmmm....
Or maybe he just forgot he had the rope still attached from a steamy night before his gf walked out on him and the rope got caught, or maybe...
Will we ever get to know what really happened there?
:D it's one of those things that make me wonder.... like one shoe lying on the pavement... or a pair of knickers hanging in some bush (although there's nothing much to wonder about ;) )

Hmmm, a hanged man... in New Jersey (my home state)... on my birthday... the 12th (Trump XII)... and it is my chosen major arcana significator...
Wooo hoooo, it was a sign!!!
And hey, isn't it typical Hanged Man scenario? The events mysterious... people puzzled.... making everyone see things in a different way...

It’s amazing! He was totally dependent on others to escape his miserable position; screaming wouldn’t probably help, nobody was around, he was not in direct sight of people, and there was no way he could have done it by himself. But still someone saw him, the police was called, and in a couple of hours his apparently desperate situation changed. That is the lesson, I think. From now one, I’ll try to remember this every time the Hanged Man comes to sight.

What I find the most interesting is it seems to explain the shape of the hanged mans legs. I've heard people describe it as a "four."
Obviously, it's just gravity...there's no rope holding the other leg up!
