Year Card influence

I was asking lunakasha if she knew what her new year card was, since she just had a birthday, but was asking in the tarot decks section which struck me as off topic, so I deleted that part of my post. So now I'm asking anyone who has had a birthday so far this year and keeps track of year cards, what did your card change to and have you felt it's influence? Mine changed last month from the Emperor to the Hierophant, and just as quickly my son (who is 17 1/2) has become much less interested in worldly guidance and more interested in spiritual/moral guidance.

I suppose you mean your year card using your birth month, day, and year? In that case (and I do like this method for general purposes) mine just changed from Justice to the Wheel of Fortune. Which is quite amazing, I've had a tough few years. My boyfriend and I have had a long distance relationship for the past couple years (different countries) and Justice does represent the reason why I couldn't move to be with him last year like I wanted, due to legal problems (immigration laws got in our way and we've only been able to have occasional visits. It's been tough :(). But now finally after 5 years of an online friendship/relationship, I am finally moving there in a week! So the luck of the Wheel definitely has a huge influence on me already this year :D There's a lot happening really fast as well.

I also like Umbrae's method of just using a person's birth day and month, and adding the last two numbers of the year of their LAST birthday (ie. just the 04) and reducing to one digit, to follow a ten year cycle. I haven't had a chance to use this in readings but as for myself it has also been accurate. In that case I just left a Lovers year (we've been having a lot of relationship problems lately due to this whole prolonged internet thing driving us nuts, so the Lovers have been better in the past, understandably :)). I'm now in a Chariot year in this respect which is very comparable to the Wheel; making things happen, the wheels starting to turn, etc.

Hope that wasn't more than you wanted to hear ;)

"Hope that wasn't more than you wanted to hear?"

Not at all, very interesting! Yes, I meant the birth day/month/year addition, so by "people who have had birthdays this year" I meant since last April. Umbrae's system sounds interesting as well...following that I would have moved from a High Priestess to an Empress year. I'm not sure I've felt this influence yet, except I wonder if this is why the last two cards I've done for jmd's card a week meditation have elicited birthing metaphors?
