Aeclecticians as Tarot Cards

Thread originally posted on the Aeclectic Tarot Forum on 12 May 2004, and now archived in the Forum Library.

Hi there!

I just got my new Fey deck yesterday.

I looked through the deck, and looked at the Queen of Pentacles in this deck, and said "aha! THAT is hedgecub."

Now, hedgecub may look at the same card and think I'm insane. And I'm well aware that it's my personal, lovely impression of the spirit of hedgecub (cute with an edge) that assigns this card to her.

Did you ever have an instantaneous reaction like that?

More importantly, to which cards from which decks, would you assign the characters you know here at Aeclectic?

Moderators...I really didn't know where to post this. Please moved if necessary...it fits in a few places!

For me Firemaiden the ths Sacred Flame card in the Shapeshifter tarot.

From the not yet released Druidcraft tarot Lunalafey it the woman on the The Wheel card.

I once did a reading for Cheekyminx using my Legend: Arthurian Tarot (by Ferguson). The Justice card appeared, and for some reason, I felt that it was Cheekyminx's card. It depicts The bare-chested Lady of the Lake emerging from the waters before King Arthur. With her arms extended to her sides, she looks perfectly symmetrical. One arm carries a sword, and the other, its sheath. She gives me the feeling that she wants to right all wrongs, even if she hurts people to do it, although she's not at all vengeful. That didn't actually make it into my post. It was a 3-month reading, but I had to do a preliminary throw to get a feeling of the querent, and that was where this card appeared.

Song Deva: A while ago, there was a thread about what cards represented various members. Very interesting, but I have no idea how to begin looking up the thread. I think it was in Talking Tarot...

This looks to be interesting, too :)

Thanks, MeeWah....I'd love it if someone posts that link.
I couldn't begin to guess what to search for!

MeeWah  12 May 2004
I did a search under "Members as Tarot cards" in Talking Tarot, Using Tarot Cards & in Tarot Games & Fun (last a longshot), but none of the threads listed seem related except for this thread, which appeared at the top of the list of threads for Talking Tarot.

If I could recall who posted the thread might have better luck, but too long ago. I had a copy of the thread, but do not see it so likely amongst the data lost during PC crash.

Sorry, SongDeva; however, this thread promises another opportunity for the same thing.

(This is meant in the best possible way):

Diana as La Papesse
jmd as Le Pope

...in a Marseille deck of course! Hadar's?

Obviously LeCorsair is the Magician, but in what deck?
The imaginary Piratical Tarot?

SongDeva  13 May 2004
The thread looks promising, although I'd be interested in seeing specific decks attributed to each person.

Ooh!

*bounces up to the screen and blinkblinks cutely at the card*

She's so cute :) And she looks so playful! :D

*bounces around cutely*

I see Contrascarpe96 as the Rohrig Knight of Disks; a mature person able to manifest much by focussing his intent. In his case the intent is for the good of the community so the manifestations benefit all:-)

I see Jema as the Princess of Swords. Clear thinker with an edge!
What deck? Robin Wood comes to mind but there are others.

Some people are entire decks to me - for obvious reasons, traded decks always remind me of the original owner, although I condier them fully my own.

And the Rock and Roll gifted to me by Lady Eclipse is newly among my most treasured possessions. I don't think I'll ever look at that deck without thinking of her kindness :)
