Okay, do you have new or old deck obsessions or sensations?
One of my on-and-off wishes was to find the old version of the Alba Dorata, the Italian version of the Tarot of the Hidden Folk...but I heard it was out of print and never thought until recently to check out on links the Italian version under the old name, Alba Dorata (Incanti). In response to a recent thread on Aeclectic.net and researching creative posts about fairy-like tarots, this title came to mind again.
Now I'm the happy recipient of an inexpensive title--but I felt like I rediscovered or won an old title in a bargain find! So a new sensation...but also, his title is touching on and expanding my Thoth research, because of certain hints to the Book of Thoth...only superficially so far. Still I'm learning more this way.
I also get a little bit of happy thrills and chills also when I read and check Golden Tarot/Rider Waite style designs, as the Golden is a nice use of old art for RWS scenes.
Maybe new faces to old deck structures, but I don't mind. Care to share your finds or favorites in this thread? Maybe I'll even find a new face to an old favorite through your eyes!

I've recently rediscovered my love of the Cosmic Tribe Tarot. For whatever reason, I loved the art when I first got the deck, but was put off by what I thought was too strong a connection to Waite, I'm ususally interested in TdM or Visconti decks.
Well, I've started using the Cosmic Tribe again, and this time the cards are not only speaking to me, the are YELLING to me. I'm paying more attention to the DMs in the book, and just reading the interpretations is a delight. Then I began to realize that it is not Waite based after all, but Thoth! I've been doing more research into Mathers and his use of the decans, and it seems to me that Crowley paid more attention to it, I see direct connections.
So this has lead me to ordering two books on Crowley's Thoth, so who knows, I might end up being a Thothophile!

I would have to say that my latest obsession is the Bosch tarot. I am of the feeling that I will not be satisfied until I have the Bosch in my hands. LOL. It makes me feel all tingly just thinking about it. Haha.
What else?
The Gilded... I am not sure I can wait until September!

I never thought it would happen to me . . .
Fairies. I never thought much of them, never was interested in them, thought the whole thing was rather silly, to tell you the truth. But one day I was searching Aeclectic for new stuff (yes, actively looking for new decks to buy -- bad Kim!) and I came across a review for the Fairy Ring Oracle. It intrigued me, but I moved on. Yet I kept coming back to it, and finally I ordered it. Then I ordered the Fairy Tarot from LS. Then the Fey. I've got all three now, and just purchased the Faeries Oracle (Froud) from some kind person here on AT.
You walk through life, certain that everything is just so, four dimensions, a planet in a solar system in a galaxy in a universe, and humans the best that Nature could manage under present conditions and BAM, a fairy comes and smacks you on the nose.
Funny old world . . .

I've always been obsessed with animal decks, and there are four (!) feline decks all either just out or coming out or in production right now, so they're my primary obsession right now...

Pips. My 2004 obsession is pips, preferably of the Marseilles variety

Is this weird or what.
(For those of you who don't know me--yes, it's very, very weird . . . sort of like ncefafn & fairies :D --which story, btw, makes perfect internal sense . . . )

So far this year my obsessive deck has been the International Icon. Usually I like rich image-dense decks for intuitive readings, but the extremely clean images of this deck fascinate me. I have had some startling readings with the deck and need to keep exploring its possibilities for a while.

I'm really hoping I will be able to get a copy of the 1st edition Vertigo this year. I have half-heartedly tried to win one for a reasonable price on e-bay many times, but it hasn't worked out. So, I guess I am going to be prepared to pay.
:P
I'm also hoping/wishing I will be able to get all the decks on my wanted list, except for the outrageously expensive, and the unpublished titles. This isn't all that impossible, since there are only about 15 on that list (including the 3 decks that are coming out this year) and that it will STILL be a lot fewer decks than I got the first year.
