Hi again! Just wanting some opinions on what material/ cloth you think is best to wrap a tarot deck in. I've asked my Tarot-reading friends back home, and they all have different opinions. Does color, material, size, pattern, etc matter? Thanks!!!

oh my... YES!!! You didn't know?!?!?!
:P :D
hee hee, sorry. couldn't resist.
Of course it is entirely up to you what you select aesthetically, though I'm sure some of the members here have some good recommendations on what works for practical matters. (Like, for example, if cotton is better than lycra for letting the cards breathe.)
take care, joya

You should personally find it appealing. Colour, texture, whatever. I like cjtarot's velvet bags, largely for the texture and rich colours but there are lots of possibilities.

I personally don't think it matters, so long as it doesn't run the risk of damaging the cards. Usually I keep mine in their original boxes, but my favourite deck gets wrapped in a silk scarf and then tucked into a cotton drawstring bag.

I tend to keep my decks in boxes, but when I get my paycheck - hopefully it will hurry up, as it was due today and didn't arrive, grrr - I am going shopping on tarottotes.com and PMing krystyna about trades.
This will require having all decks at the computer and making sure they get the tote they want. . . :)
My beautiful Rock N Roll came in a filmy gold coloured bag with a drawstring, which seems perfect for it.

I like the idea of making your own bag. But, lining a cool wooden box (like a deep cigar box) with a layer of padding and fabric is my next project. I don't know if it lets them breathe enough, but it keeps them safe from bend-age and plus I'm a box junkie so it works with the decor. :)

Talking of making one's own bags, where online could I find a pattern for making simple drawstring bags? Does anyone know of a fairly foolproof sewing site?

I use any natural fiber, no synthetics, though I cannot bring myself to use suedes, leathers, skins, etc. I prefer silk lined bags and keep the original boxes, where they exist, for further protection. I also wash my hands before I touch a deck; hope to avoid contaminating it, either physically or psychically.

Check out Tarot Totes. I have purchased from them twice (and about to place another order!). They have a huge selection, plus they are super quick in getting your order to you!
