Not sure if this is the right area to post this, but here it is anyway and if it has to be moved that will be ok.
I wondered what influence each of these cards might have on each other. I had done a four card spread laying the cards out in a square. I explored what each cards position meant to me but then I was curious as to the possible influences cards had to each other especially the above mentioned. Any feedback on this would be most welcom.

The magician takes action, doing what needs to be done, making what's possible real. He plans and takes action and gets reuslts.
The two of pentacles juggles everything in balance, coping with demands and getting people to work together to make sure all areas are covered.
The magician knows what to do and why; acknowledges motivations and understands intentions by examining the known situation.
The two of pentacles is more flexible, free to try new approaches and goes with the flow. Open to developments, sees possibilities and changes directions easily.
The magician has a singleness of purpose, is totally committed to the plan and actions decided upon, and focuses on the goal (big picture).
The two of pentacles does something for enjoyment/fun, getting a kick out of life and has time to play. Whistles while he works and sees humor in the situation.
The magician makes a strong impact, leaving one energized and feeling vigorous and creative. that the power of the magician.
That's my take.

piebald, here is my take on your situation:
The 2 of Pents is less about fun than about working with what you have. If the Magician and your 2 of P were opposing one another, then I'd say that the energy infused by the Magician was brought down to reality by the 2 of Pents. That is, while the drive and will to create bold change may be present, the 2 of Pents is reminding you that it has to be within reason.

Piebald--
In the RWS deck, the Magician has the lemniscate over his head. The two of pents has one wrapped around the pentacles.
The third card with one is Strength.
I see these all as expressions of Will.
The Magician is the Will to Create. Strength is an image of Crowley's maxim: 'Love under Will'. The 2 of pents is Will expressed as Change in Balance-- the Tao overseeing the action.
There much more, of course. But these are quick first impressions

Thank you all for your replies. Ravenswing you have given me an idea to go through my RWS deck to look for similarities and differences as a comparison of every card. When I did my spread I used the mythic deck. Does the meaning of the cards change dramatically depending on the deck you use if you are comparing the cards in a layout.

piebald--
I would say that the essence of a card remains the same across the board. It's the trappings that will vary from deck to deck. Each artist has his particular angle of view, artistic style and degree of knowledge that blends together in the creation of a deck.
At the moment, I'm cross-studying the Nigal Jackson, the World Spirit, the RWS and the Thoth.
I'm doing the threes now. I go in the order of wand, cup, sword and penticle. The top row is the Nigal Jackson; second row, the World Spirit; third row the Thoth and the fourth the RWS.
Great insights.
Lots of ways to look at the cards...
fly well
