I've heard a little about the Aeclectic Community Tarot. Is it a card set where members of Aeclectic Tarot create the cards? If that were so, I'd be interested in joining in. How would I go about doing so if anyone knows? If I'm wrong at what it is, let me know. I'm curious about it.

Blashamma ~
Welcome to Aeclectic :0
Are you a subscriber? I think you may need to be a subscriber to participate. If you are, have a look in the Subscribers' section. If not , why not think of becoming a subscriber if you are able to? It means a payment of $25 US; helps keep the forums going and gives you afew extra benefits.
The Aeclectic Community Tarot is simply a tarot deck designed by Aeclectic members. Those interested each do a card. I think there are examples of past desiigns accessible through the front end of the website.
My best wishes ~

$25!!! Don't they know artists are poor!
No, I know they need the money in order to maintain this site, and I thank those who have subsrcibed for that. But as of now, I am unable to afford something like that as much as I would love to participate. I cannot express how amazing it would be for me to be part of something so spectacular! As sad as it is, I suppose I will just have to accept that this must not be for me. I wish it were open to all members. They could have something much greater and with better variety and spice if it were. Too many times money has gotten people down. Don't make me go on my the world would be a better place without money rant! I'll save that for another day and another post... and another website since money and tarot aren't directly related, well... you know what I mean.
I don't want to get agry at you or to the website, but this really put a damper on my day. OH well, maybe tomorrow I'll get a commission for my art and I'll find a great new job... and I'll stop ranting and trying to make others feel sorry for me.
Thank for the info.

Blashamma ~
Sometimes it is possible that people will donate subscriptions. I'm not sure what the situation is with this but perhaps someone else who is could help with further information?
I hope you stay with us and see the other wonderful things you can participate in. I really look forward to seeing your posts and getting to know you better. There are very good threads on tarot deck creation. and other things of interest.
It does cost money to run the Forum and keep it going , as you acknowledge, so please stay around and get to know us. I hope your day looks up before too much longer :)
And if I have made a mistake with this information, someone will come along and correct me.

Thank you. Your worlds alone have made things better. I've never been too keen to charity. I feel aweful when someone gives me anything, and as much as I'd love to participate in the Aeclectic Community Tarot, I'd refuse a charity subscription over and over again. I don't know why. It's just the way I was made I guess.
I'm not going to leave this place just because of that. At first, this place was an invaluable source of tarot information, but now I see it as a place of support and friends. The people here- like you- are extraordinary. I only wish I could do more.
But all I can say about the Aeclectic Community Tarot is Oh well. It just wasn't meant for me, at least not this time.

Blashamma,
Moongold is correct. You do need to be a subscriber to join in the Third Aeclectic Community Tarot. It costs $US 25 for a one year subscription. If you break that down by month it costs less than $2.10 per month. You can become a subscriber here.
You can see the First Aeclectic Community Tarot here.
You can see the Second Aeclectic Community Tarot here.
It would be great if you, or indeed anyone else here, could find a way to participate. :)

Ya' know, you could look at it as payment for the cards artwork:D

Well,I've decided that I'm going to make my card anyway that I wanted to make and post it here... once I figure out how I post images here. I do remember there being a thread about it that I've never read. I have to look for it. If anyone has any information on posting images, can you let me know? I want to show progress in the Tarot Creation section on some of my tarot sets I've been working on. I've left everyone in suspense long enough! Ha ha ha! look around for me, that's where I usually post.

Hi! I just thought I would add here that the Aeclectic Community Tarot projects are not published, only posted online. This is the third year that an ACT deck has been created. If you can't do this one, I'm sure you will be a subscriber by next year! ;) There have been quite a few donated subscriptions, although I'm not really clear on the details for that...
I thought the previous years decks were veiwable by anyone on the site, but I can only find them in the subscribers' section right now. Does anyone know whether non-subscribers can view them?

Yes, Major Tom posted links to both of the sets in this very thread, just look back a bit. Also, I found them myself, but it's not easy. I don't remember how I did it, but on this site, it is possible to find them. Start at the home page- aeclectic.net and work your way through there if you want to find out how to get to them, but I would just use the links Major Tom provided here.

I do believe, unless the policy has changed, that the only way to post an attachment such as a card scan is to become a subscriber. I'm not entirely happy with this, since it deters new members from having a mystery deck identified.
As for being unable to afford a subscription, I believe that somewhere there is a list you can put your name on, so that a donated subscription can become yours. Or, perhaps, as has happened in the past, someone will specify that you receive a gift subscription. :)

You know, that figures. I was looking around and found that out myself. Also, since I'm do not think I can post the adress of a site where people can view my cards (I was a little unclear of the rules, so I'll just stand clear of it until I'm 100% sure), I can probably get around it by posting them elsewhere and saying that if anyone wants to see them to contact me, and when they do, I can give them the address. Oy! That seems like alot of trouble, but you have to do what you have to do sometimes. And I was all ready for it because I just got a flat scanner too! Well, I'm afraid y'all are just going to be satisfied with descriptions and such. BUt you know what? I'll swallow my pride and if you figure anything out about that list, let me know so I can get on it. Gracius!
I'm proud of my hard work! I want to show it off! Just wait until I finish it! Then I'll really get angry! ha ha ha! Well, by then perhaps I'll have a subscription.

I think that the list I referred to earlier is here.
Good Luck!

You can post a link to your site displaying your cards on the Tarot Deck Creation board.
This is particularly allowed in the Forum Rules.
