Now that we've shared some finer artists, what about the ones you look at every day. We shuffle their work and look for answers in their images.
So what artist do you layout the most? })
I'm enamored with Lady Harris and Nigal Jackson.

and it seemed that M. Nizzoli (Secrets Tarot from Lo Scarabeo) and Ananda Kurt Pilz (Ananda Tarot) just captivated me the most for doing a mixed spread.
The Ananda is just the perfect size to match with Lo Scarabeo decks. I like its use of settings in the minors and dreamy scenes/figures in the courts/majors. And then when I interesperse the Secrets all-figure cards that have an otherworldly air, it becomes very much a story that I like to look at and examine.
I like reading the information as well...Thank you for this topic, it gives me a chance to chat about old favorites.
Smooth sailing to you,
Cerulean Mari

Last day of vacation...and am getting delights with Scapini (Medieval with book) and Dali (Rachel Pollack's book adds a great deal)...
I know you said artists, but its the authors also that are opening up ideas for me...I also like Christine Payne Tower's essays about the different tarot cards available through Tarot.com...so I end up comparing the ideas that she suggests, noting for instance, in the following paraphrase
"Rider Waite style decks will focus on the effects of a hasty, not well-thought out decision of the Five of Pentacles rather than the lure and possibility of change presented in the Continental Tarots meaning..."
Perhaps Ron Decker's summary of the Medieval Scapini's meaning sources that could include Wirth for the majors and Etteilla & the Golden Dawn for the minors also presents more food for thought, that's why I like it. Rachel Pollack's question and evocative summary style for the Dali in her book also presents open ended possibilities.
And I just realized I also like Mary Greer's Tarot Reversals for the additional ideas and possibilities...
Getting back to the art...Medieval and Dali add smiles to my take on tarot.
How are the artists/authors affecting your readings or ideas?

I don't know the answer to the above question, but will take a guess--all the artists produced at least one of their decks after joining AT?
As for my favorite artists:
-Kris Waldherr
-Karen Mahoney and Alex Ukolov
-Nigel Jackson, for his individual cards, but not for the deck as a whole, because I feel it lacks unity.
-Amy Zerner

3. Karen Mahony & Alex Ukolov
4. Ciro Marchetti
5. David Sheridan
6. Jutta Kuss (b&w German student tarot)

I just *love* Robert M. Place - I see he hasn't been mentioned. I am driving myself *nuts* over the Alchemical deck - $85, it would put me into more debt but I can't stop thinking about it! Help!!
Also, I cannot believe that the Sevenfold Mysteries has *not* had a publisher - I *wish* they would publish that one so I can own it!

Good grief, there are a LOT of us!
Since I noticed you didn't include Ciro, or a few others that I know were published by the big 3, the second thing has to be that we all took our bankbooks firmly in our hands and decided to self-publish. Awwkk!

Many on my list are self-published, but not all of them are published or even complete.
As a final question, there is one name missing from my previous list, can you name that person? ;)

When I look at tarot decks-in shops, here, on other sites-I'm constantly bowled over by all the creativity and energy that is out there ! I won't try and draw up a comprehensive list because I'd hate to miss someone out whose work I love, but these names come to mind:
Karen Mahoney and Alex Ukulov-I have both their decks-love 'em
Nigel Jackson-especially for his Witches' Runes
Arnell Ando-who has made a Hero's Journey set for me-if you haven't seen her stuff, her website is great ( www.arnellart.com)-also, I THINK she's still making these on request-a lovely person to deal with
and, less well-known but deserving a plug, is Alison Stone, creator of the Stone Tarot-her colours are amazing-she works in oils.
