I'm practicing this spread I've found called a "fan spread". For each question there is a group of 3 cards for example:
Group 1 The character of the enquirer and the recent past.
for this I got Prince of Cups (hearts) Ace of Pentacles and Judgement. (Werner Farber Enchanted Tarot Cards).
bearing in mind, I've dealt these myself with no querant as such because I'm trying to learn this spread before I use it on anyone.
My question is: How do I use all three cards to answer one question?
In my interpretation I used the hearts as an Emotional card, interpreting as someone who wears their heart on their sleeve, The Pentacles as how they manage money and finances in relation to their character, that they are good at managing money, always having money for a rainy day, lucky with money and being stable financially.
Judgement, as the result of past events shaping the character of the person. I interpret this as a person who believes that past events can shape the future, lessons will have been learnt (for the better). We are responsible for our own actions. What goes around comes around.
So overall, I'd say the person's character is kind, loving, level headed. stable and is willing to pay the consequences of past efforts/dealings.
Am I on the right track here?
My next Group in the spread is:
Love life and emotional Links:
The cards are: The Tower, The high Priestess and the Prince of Swords.
I'm going to really study these cards and learn but I need to know if I am doing it right first, because I have 7 groups of 3 cards to get through!.
cheers!

Katie_here: Your approach seems appropos for the particular spread. That is, using the suit & type of card to guide the view & the interpretive, concluding in a sentence format such as expressed by the overall statement.
I calculate a total of 21 cards in this spread, which makes for a complex reading.

this spread reminds me of a bohemian spread i used to ponder.
more complex than the waite cross. what i did, was use past-present-future meanings for the three cards in each position.
complex spreads are the best. they take alot of time to master, but they offer the most direct road to the divine in my opinion.
